What is the legend of the Loch Ness Monster?

• For many years, people have believed there is a monster that lives in the Loch

• Various sightings have occurred, by people claiming to see the monster swimming in the Loch

• The Monster has the nickname “Nessie”

Sightings• In 1933, a man took a photo of something

in the Loch

The photo appeared in the newspaper and caused a lot of interest

• A man who owned a circus offered a reward to anyone who captured the monster

• Many, many people have claimed to see something in the water

• There were scientific investigations at the Loch to “prove” the monster exists…but we still don´t know!

• There have been “sightings” in 2007 and 2011

• In 2011, a man took a video of what he thought was Nessie, in the Loch

• This video even appeared on the news
