LiCCo Primary and Secondary Learning and Teaching Programme
Aims of the LiCCo education programme
• Contribute to the overall mission of LiCCo;
• Support teachers to engage children and young people 7-18 with issues of climate change, coastline management, adaptation and resilience building;
• Inspire and train teachers;
• Make all of the resources freely available online;
• Provide associated site based learning activities at the Exe Estuary and Poole Harbour sites.
Principles of design • Rigorous and intellectually challenging learning –
knowledge and understanding, skills, attitudes and values;
• Relevant and inspirational;
• Key question led and enquiry based learning;
• Developing higher order thinking e.g. applying, prioritising, synthesising; making informed judgements, reflection and evaluation;
• Outcomes not outputs focused learning
• Linked closely to the National Curriculum
