Letters to Peter and Chloe
Year threes from Burleigh State School say thank-you
and everyone else!
These letters were sent to the Mudgeeraba Light Horse Museum as a thank-you from the students for their visit, March 12, 2015 - just prior to the Anzac Gallipoli centenary.
It's always lovely to receive letters from children, and these were worthy of a book.
It's a great example of what a class can do for 'Telling the Anzac story'.

Thanks for letting us pat the horse. My favourite bit was when you shot the rifles and holding the rifles. It was really fun
seeing the horse and you all. From Nash
Nash
Beautifully detailed drawing - the farmhouse, Chloe in the stable and of the barn. Great you got the safety
message!Looks like Peter in the green hat - our
horseback tent-pegger. Great airplane in the sky too.
Paige Thank-you for our wonderful visit at
the Light Horse museum. My favourite part was finding Woody,
and holding the bayonet and raising the flag.
love from Paige
PS. I liked putting the poppies on
our hero - CHLOE
Lovely drawing of Chloe. The pink, yellow and black
spots remind us of Chloe's dappled
grey coat. Very Good!
The final part of the day, students listen to stories of Anzac heroes - men and women bravely supporting the war effort. They
then place their poppy on the photo of their chosen hero.
This group of students spontaneously decorated Chloe with poppies.
Chloe looks great, doesn't she!

It's so good when Peter holds the sword in his mouth - and uses
