What is the first thing that comes to mind when I say,

“God”?

“God”?How would you describe

“sin”?

GOD Dictionary – the sole Supreme Being, eternal, spiritual, and

transcendent, who is the Creator and ruler of all and is infinite in

all attributes; the object of worship in monotheistic religions

Hebrews 12:9-119 Furthermore, we have had

human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits

and live?

Hebrews 12:9-1110 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His

holiness..

Hebrews 12:9-1111 Now no chastening seems to be

joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of

righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

“sin”?

SIN1. transgression of God's known will or any principle or law regarded as embodying this2. any act regarded as such a transgression, especially a willful or deliberate violation of some religious or moral principle

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in

Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Timothy 3:16-17All Scripture is given by inspiration

of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for

correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of

God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

1 John 3:2Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been

revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see

Him as He is.

Matthew 22: 37-39“‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great

James 4:4-5Do you not know that friendship with

the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a

friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?

“The undiscerning mind is like the root of a plant absorbing

equally all that it touches even the poison that kills it.”

Isaiah 5:20-21Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;

Genesis 22:1-2Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I

am.” 2 Then He said, “Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”

Genesis 22:3So Abraham rose early in the

morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men

with him, and Isaac his son; and he split the wood for the burnt

offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.

Genesis 22:13-1413 Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt

offering instead of his son.

Genesis 22:13-1414 And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the LORD it shall be

provided.”

Psalm 25:14

The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him, And He will show

them His covenant.
