ZESPÓŁ SZKÓŁ W GŁOGOWIE MŁP. POLAND

Delegation happens when we ask other people to do different tasks, carry out specific activities for which we are responsible.

Even at school delegating can help you to reach your goal and get better marks.

We learned that DELEGATION is a must if we want to move forward because one person cannot do everything alone. We need to delegate some of the tasks, coach and inspire other people.

As a practical activity we drew maps „Delegation in my school” showing how the different tasks are performed by teachers, office workers, headmasters and technical staff. The pictures show how we worked on the topic.

During the lessons we were practising our presentation skills because it is very important to know how to make people listen to us and get our message across.

We made presentations in the format of Pecha Kucha which means 20 slides shown for 20 second each.

The topic of the presentations was „My achievements, interests and talents”.

We never used Pecha Kucha before and it was quite difficult for some students to use it because you have to practise a lot before the final presentation. The results, however, were very interesting and sometimes funny.

One of our friends, Dominika, was presenting her artistic talent. She was talking about drawing and how she developed her skills. Here are some slides she made showing her recent drawings.

This presentation is about my achievement. My biggest achievement is ability to use graphics programs. Without them, I probably couldn’t make that big progress like this.

Now, I can make pictures like this:

Another student, Rafał, was talking about his passion to body building and here’s a part of his presentation.

Once Now

May 2014 – June 2014

We focused on ecology. In spring and summer in our school there are different events which draw attention to the problems of environment. CLIP members from class 2a took part in some of them.

Outside our school there is a garden where the students can spend their breaks during the summer. In spring there is always a lot of things to do so we decided to help and do some gardening. We planted some trees and flowers and cleaned the pond.

During the teacher–parent meeting in May we were selling seedlings and small plants to get money for new gardening tools, fertilisers and seeds.

In our school we talk a lot about recycling. We segregate rubbish and have special bins for plastic, batteries, metal. In the school garden there are big containers for wastepaper. At the end of the school year CLIP members helped to empty the containers and load the truck.

With our biology teacher and other students we discussed the problems of the environment such as pollution in rivers and forests. We were looking for ways of saving energy and water.

We also started a blog where each of us could write about ecology.

Before the Earth Day we also prepared posters to encourage other students to segregate rubbish and to protect the environment.

During the whole school year we volunteered in the local day room. We helped other students in English. In June the director of the institution gave us certificates and small gifts which was very nice. Our work was also appreciated by the headmistress who told other students about our work through the school radio.
