OperationsOp e ra tio n s
Measuring single distance
Aim active laser at target.Target surfaces: Measuringerrors can occur whenmeas-uring to colourless liquids, glass, styrofoam or permeable sur-facesor when aiming at highgloss surfaces. Against dark
surfaces themeasuring timeincreases.
14Leica DISTO™D2
Operations
Permanent / Minimum-Maximum measuring
Used tomeasure room diagonals(maximum values) or horizontal dis-tance (minimum values). Themin-imum andmaximum distancemeasured is displayed (min, max.).The last valuemeasured is displayedin themain line.
Stopspermanent / minimum-max-imummeasuring.
Leica DISTO™D2 15
Operations
Add / Subtract
The next measurement is added tothe previousone, respectively sub-tracted from the previousone.
The result is shown in themainline and themeasured valueabove. This process can berepeated as required. Thesame process can be used foradding or subtracting areasorvolumes. In this case pressDIST to show the result.
Leica DISTO™D2 16
Operations
Area
Aim laser at first target point. Aim laser at second target point.
The result is shown in themainline and themeasured valueabove. Painter function: Press+or - after starting the first meas-urement. Measure and add orsubtract wall lengths. Measure
finally height for second lengthto get the wall area.
Circumference is displayed.
Leica DISTO™D2 17
Operations
Volume
Aim laser at first target point. Aim laser at second target point.
Aim laser at third target point. Circumference and wall area are dis-played.
Leica DISTO™D2 18
Operations
Memory (last 10 results)
Last 10 valuesare displayed. Navigates through last 10 values.
Leica DISTO™D2 19
Operations
Delete Memory
Pressboth keys simultaneousley.Memory is completely deleted.
Leica DISTO™D2 20
Operations
Timer (automatic release)
Adjust delayof automatic release(max. 60 sec, standard setting = 5sec.).
Once the key is released with
the laser activated, the remain-ing secondsuntil the result ist dis-played in a countdown. Thedelayed release is recom-mended for precise aiming e.g.at long distances. It avoids shak-ing of the device when pressingthemeasurement key.

Maximummeasurement.
Leica DISTO™D2 23
Operations
Stake out
Adjust value. Approve value and start meas-urement.
Move device slowly along the stakeout line. The distance to the nextstake out point is displayed.
0.240m ismissing up to next 0.625mdistance.
When approaching a stake outpoint to less then 0.1m the
instrument starts to beep. Thefunction can be stopped bypressing the CLEAR/OFF but-ton.
