• The most ancient sacred literature of Hinduism.

• Represents beliefs of Aryan Tribes

• Called the gods to recite the hymns aloud (Rig)

• Most important of ancient text

• Not popular

• No pictographic symbols • No alphabet • Borrowed Ideas • Mesopotamia

Topic 3 – Indian Fashion

• Varies from village to village

• Vibrant in colors

• Bold colors from inventive drapes

• India Sari – Traditional clothing for women

• No stitching

• All sewing

Indian Fashion

• A piece of clothing that raps around your body and it can vary in size.

• Mehndi is a temporary skin decoration.

Topic 4 – Sports in India

• Chess, Snakes, Ladders, Playing Cards, Polo, Karate

• Further modernized in other countries

• These games have something to do with today's Olympic games

• Hockey is the national sport

• Baseball with sticks instead of bats.

• She won a bronze medal
