ExtendingfromthecoastallowlandsofStrangfordLough,CountyDown,throughtheLoughNeaghbasinandthescenicAntrimcoasttothelakelandsofCountyFermanagh,thistripwillincludeawidevarietyofsitesthatwillhighlighttheimpactsofregionalglaciationontheNorthofIreland,thediversecharacteroflandscapeevolutionduringthelate-glacialandHolocene,andevidenceforhuman-landscapeinteractionssincetheNeolithicperiod.Itwillalsoincludeanumberof peatlandand lake sites thathavebeenused to reconstructmid to lateHolocene climate changeand todevelopregionaltephrostratigraphies.DuringtheexcursiontherebeanopportunitytovisittheGiant’sCausewayUNESCOWorldHeritageSiteandtheMarbleArchCavesGlobalGeoparkwhereissuesofgeoheritageconservationandmanagementwillbeexplored.AtouroftheBushmillsDistillerywillbeincluded.OurbaseforthetripwillbethecityofBelfastwheredelegateswishingtostayforanoptionalfifthdaycantourthemulti-awardwinning‘TitanicBelfast’MusuemortheUlsterMuseum.Cost per person:£245 (including all tour travel, site entry to theGiants Causeway,MarbleArchCaves, BushmillsDistilleryTourandWhiskytastingandlunchesonfourtourdays).Note:accommodationandTitanicBelfastentryfeearenotincluded.2.BASEFORTHETRIP

Delegates will make their ownarrangements for accommodation inBelfast where many different types ofaccommodationareavailableatarangeofprices.Agroupdiscountrate(£75single;£93 double) has been arranged at theWellington Park Hotel in South Belfastwith a code for discounted bookings (forfurtherdetailsseebelow).Theorganisersare happy to provide delegates withassistance with hotel bookings and willsupply a list of recommended hotels onrequest.

Bothairportshave regular flights to anumberofUKandEuropeandestinations.DublinAirportisalsowithineasyreachofthecityviaadirectshuttle,withajourneytimeofapproximately2hours.
