Kingsgate 3 & 4 Annual Meeting Monday, February 28th, 7pm, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church
Joan McBride has served on the Kirkland City Council for 12 years and as mayor since January,2010. She has lived in Kirkland since 1960, graduated from Ever-
green St. College, and has an extensive background in human services, both pro-fessionally and as a volunteer. Among her many areas of involvement, she is a founding board member of the Eastside Human Services Forum, former Chair of the Kirkland Interfaith Network, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Bicycle Alliance of Washington and Fam-ily Resource Center.
Kurt Triplett has been Kirkland’s city manager since June, 2010. Previ-ously, he served at King County for 17 years in a variety of capacities. As City Manager, he admin-isters and manages the City accord-ing to the mission, policies and guidelines adopted by the City Coun-cil, and oversees the operations of ten departments. He has a Master’s in Public Administration from Har-vard University Kennedy School of Government and a BA in Political Science from Stanford.
Our guest speakers for the Annual Meeting will be Mayor Joan McBride and City Manager Kurt Triplett of the City of Kirkland. They will each talk about the annexation of Kingsgate, North Juanita, and Finn Hill into the city, effective on June1st this year. They will review progress of preparations and the impacts of annexation for Kings-gate 3&4 residents. This is a great opportunity for you to get to know them and get your questions answered! *This is a special arranged visit.
The Annual Meeting of Members for Kingsgate 3 & 4 will be Monday, February 28th, at 7PM, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, at the corner of NE 140th St and 116th Ave NE just west of Robert Frost Elementary school. Reports will be presented by the Association board and committees on activities and accomplishments in 2010, plans for 2011, and 2011 adopted budget. We will also enjoy special guest speakers.
The most important item of business at the Annual Meeting is the election of board members. There are nine positions on the board. Board members serve three-year terms. This year, board members whose three-year terms are expiring are Gerri Kirchner, Brad Poulin, and Pat Ryan. Also, a special election will be held to fill the remaining year of the unexpired term to which Michael Patterson was appointed during 2010.
Gerri Kirchner, Pat Ryan, and Michael Patterson have indicated that they would like to seek new terms on the board. Brad Poulin has announced that he will not seek re-election. We greatly appreciate his service on the board and Pool Committee for the past six years! The Nominating Committee is now seeking one more member to serve on the board. If you’re interested, please contact any mem-ber of the board; contact information at http://www.kingsgate.org/officers.htm.
Directly following the Annual Meeting of Members, the Board of Trustees will convene to elect officers for 2011. Members interested in that process are wel-come to attend.
Welcome Mayor Joan McBride and City Manager Kurt Triplett
