Blog Pageviews
As you can see most of my pageviews came
from Facebook. It was a great resource to
also get engagement to my blog!
Blog Visitors
As you can see I had a 17% return rate for visitors. I feel as sometimes it can be hard when starting a new blog to get returning readers but I am proud to have 17.6% come back to read post after post!
KloutBeginning this project, I
had never heard of Klout or have ever used it. I
started off with a score of 10 and at the end of my project I am now at 45!
At the beginning of my social media project I had 328 connections. I have
now ended with 409 connections, gaining 81 connections! I also have
increased my skills and endorsements. I have 3 for event planning, yay!
LinkedIn Recommendations
I have one LinkedIn recommendation from a fellow peer who I have worked closely with in a student organization I am involved in, Pi Sigma Epsilon. My
other two recommendations are from fellow executive members of my
sorority Gamma Phi Beta.
LinkedIn Recommendations
At the beginning I began with 0 tweets and ended with 65. Honestly Twitter
was the hardest part of this project for me. I am not a Twitter person and
realized I should have used Hootsuite and would advise that to future
students!
Twitter FollowersI started off with 0 Twitter followers and in the end had gained 139. My
goal was 72 as that was the average last semester. I met my goal and
exceeded it! Here are some of the cool people and accounts that followed
me!
Twitter Interaction
As Twitter was my biggest struggle with this project, I did not have much
interaction. It was a great way for people to see when I had uploaded a
new blog or to receive event tips. I did receive 9 personal Twitter messages
from accounts I did follow!
Lessons Learned● Overall the Social Media Project was a huge learning experience. I think this is one of the best class
projects I have ever done. I was able to learn first hand how to develop a personal brand while using a blog, Twitter and other social media outlets.
● I learned that blog posts are not hard to write when you are writing about something you enjoy. I chose a topic I knew I enjoyed and it was easy to come up with topics for posts. The tricky part was getting interaction with those posts.
● Twitter was my downside to this entire project. If I would have kept up better with my Twitter I would have been able to build my brand more.
● I am happy with my turnout but I do know if I would have done a few other things to promote my blog or increased my Twitter usage I would have had more engagement.
Goals Met/Accomplishments● My goal for pageviews was to be over the class average last semester of 405 pageviews. I achieved
my goal with 552 pageviews!! ● My goal for Twitter followers was again to be over the class average last semester. The class
average was 72 last semester. With my Twitter I earned 139 Twitter followers, again I achieved my goal!!
● When beginning this project, I thought writing 12 blog posts was going to be extremely hard. I have never once had a blog before but again I did achieve my goal of writing 12 posts during the project timeframe.
For the FutureLike I have said, overall I believe I did have a successful social media project. While there is always flaws I think the main point of this project was to develop a personal brand. I believe I have done that by creating content that fits my personal brand stated below. When analyzing my blog topic choices and tweets I feel as they were all intended to inspire others to create memorable and perfected events. I provided tips and tricks for various topics of event planning. I tried to target an audience that was not just event planners but topics that drew in a larger audience. Moving forward I would recommend students to use Hootsuite and to really take time developing a personal brand. Because of the time I spent on my personal brand I enjoyed the semester writing about event planning!
Happy Planning,Kelli
