Saving lives in times of war
“To be honest with you, if it wasn’t for Inmarsat’s equipment, I don’t think we would
have made it back home. We could have been imprisoned until now, or even shot dead
because the moment Basra fell, there was no control over the soldiers and in the chaos we
would likely have been shot on the spot. Inmarsat’s GAN was the only solution for us at
the time because it was our only way to contact base,” said Ali Safa, Engineer, Al Arabiya

Tsunami warning centers
Tsunami Warning Center detects tsunami activity and issues alert
Alert is broadcast, free of charge, and instantly to all Tsunami Watch Centers and ships around the region. Broadcast takes places via Inmarsat-C or mini-C satellite terminals
Tsunami Watch Centers take necessary measures for evacuations
