When kitchen equipment and fur-nishings for the ncty Oklahoma INle-Inorial Union were ordered a yearago, the management had no reasonto foresee the substantial savings thatwere being made .
Yet because of the curbs on suchitems by the military situation theOklahoma Memorial Union reportsa substantial savings in the purchas-ing of essential items. Hillyer Free-land, '381a, manager of the Union, indicates that some 95 percent of thepurchasing was completed before theprice rise or before certain items be-came totally unavailable.
Construction work continues at arapid pace . The first interior decor-ation work on any of the expandedsection has begun in the south addi-tion . Nlarblc walls are being I>ut intoplace and paint is covering much ofthe wall space. Next month's Soonerflfagit~-inc will leaturc a photographicdisplay of the Will Rogers murals .
