Brief Overview of Kacheguda Station Heritage Building
Kacheguda Railway Station is one of the three Central Stations in Hyderabad City of Telangana in India, operated by the South Central Railway of Indian Railways.
Constructed in 1916, by the Nizam of the erstwhile Hyderabad State, this Station was the Headquarters of the then Nizam's Guaranteed State Railway.
From the intricate stucco decorations of the Qutub Shahi to the distinct Osmanian style of architecture, it represents the transition period in Hyderabad's architecture history.
Brief Overview of Kacheguda Station Heritage Building
Endowed with central and side domes and accompanying minarets, the traditional Islamic architecture can be seen and this station has aspects of Gothic style architecture.
Housing many modern passenger amenities, this station now serves as A1 station of the Hyderabad railway division of South Central Railway.
This station was bestowed with the Intach Heritage Award in 2004 for its architecture and historicity.
The entire building was surrounded by Green patches to provide serene and lush green ambience which will also add to the conservation of energy. This building has been awarded with Gold Rating by IGBC in Railway Stations category in 2018.
