WEATHERING STATE
Fresh: no visible sign of weathering.
Faintly weathered: weathering limited to the surface of major discontinuities.
Slightly weathered: penetrative weathering developed on open discontinuity surfaces but only slight weathering of rock material.
Moderately weathered: weathering extends throughout the rock mass but the rock material is not friable.
Highly weathered: weathering extends throughout rock mass and the rock material is partly friable.
