The ****clash of greening and under-ground culture at surrounding of the site makes me intend to mix the organic and something evil together. Nowadays, many organic/healthy food always tag them as “organic/healthy“. I want to bring some-thing different into the market that makes me think of the milk in A Clockwork Or-ange, a film about violent.
I want to do something playful in my port-folio. Thus, I decided to develop this idea.

BLACK MILK
Black Milk is inspired by A Clockwork Or-ange, a film talking about violation and hu-man dignity which owing to the location. The restaurant is a spatial interpretation of the film. The food served is milk drinks and some light food.
The image here is the rendering of terrace floor.

Some research was done before I go to the design stage. The restaurant is
located in PMQ, a designer hub, neigh-bouring many galleries, bars and historic blocks with joyful greening around. In a good culture atmosphere, the restaurant can be designed in something related to its culture background and fun.
A Clockwork Orange is chosen as media and method to invovle the youth culture on the street to interior.
The next page is some analysis of the film.

This space is a courtyard (A shaft will be carved on the original building. Be-side this, there is inversion of the space such as push the outside of the build-ing in and invite people to have a seat there on the ground floor, carving a sharp outdoor garden on 1/f, pulling the bright orange box out on the 1/f as well.

Developed from the analysis of the film, some sharp space was made, whatever the light or the angles. Instead of pushing inte-rior out as the concept sketch, several little gardens are designed on the outside space which is carved from the interior space. It is one of the focus point of the space. They able to be seen visually, but never to be touched physically.
People could observe others due to the ar-rangement, making eating a performance.
After going through the dark and shape space, the user will reach a warm space with good view of gardens and trees outside. The design of the route is inspired by the scenario of the film. Sometimes the hero Alex can see his future and sometimes he cannot. Some times when he thinks his fu-ture is coming, despair comes instead.
When people enjoy the their meals here, they have to go back to dark space again, as it is shown on the left.
This space is like an extend box of the build-ing that people can only see the warm place as facade from outside but not the dark inner space.

There is no standing furniture in the room but waving floor to create a
sense of void and bring back one’s ego. The core of the room is a sauna room. When people step in the guest room, they can take off their clothes at the door and entre the sauna room to enjoy the high temporature and high humidity on timber floor. Next, they can have a cold shower on the cold marble floor. Then they may relax in the pool before the window. The different material make the feeling stronger.

+ Analysis
The shelter is in the form of a tend but sup-ported with the force of suspension. There are two ways – suction cups and hooks – to make it stand and be adapted to different urban textures. Different colours are also provided. The original idea of this shelter is to stand with the support on a vertical sur-face like a parasite in the city. Since there are many glass skyscrapers in Hong Kong, the shelter is intended to be adapted into these urban textures. To meet the requirement of low cost, most the material is very common and cheap, like shower curtain, cable ties, pvc pipe, suction cups and cooks.

The intallation is consist of two plastic chairs, a mannequin made of concrete waste, a cable reel as table, a tea set and audience. Facing the skyline of Hong Kong, the installation is a mirror of those beautiful skyscrapers, but showing their rough in-ners. The tea set build an emotional bridge of tasting between concrete man and the audience. The man-shaped is inviting au-dience to slow down their busy life in this good Sunday on the grassland, to have a small talk about this prosperous concrete forest in front where we live in and to share their stories as a part of the concrete land-scape.

TEA FOR TWO
The site of event is facing Hong Kong’s famous skylines which is consist of series of high rises build-ings. But I want to reverse the glamous of the build-ing with the construction waste that produced by this city every day. And invite people to talk about this by drinking tea.
Some interesting sharing on instagram.
