Life Together

Ezra 3:8-13

Ezra 3:8-13 ESV

Now in the second year after their

coming to the house of God at

Jerusalem, in the second month,

Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and

Jeshua the son of Jozadak made a

beginning, together with the rest of

their kinsmen, the priests and the

Levites and all who had come to

Jerusalem

Ezra 3:8-13 ESV

from the captivity. They appointed

the Levites, from twenty years old

and upward, to supervise the work

of the house of the Lord. And Jeshua

with his sons and his brothers, and

Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of

Judah, together supervised the

workmen in the house of God,

along with the sons

Ezra 3:8-13 ESV

of Henadad and the Levites, their

sons and brothers. And when the

builders laid the foundation of the

temple of the Lord, the priests in

their vestments came forward with

trumpets, and the Levites, the sons

of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise

the Lord,

Ezra 3:8-13 ESV

according to the directions of David king of Israel. And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord, "For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever toward Israel.“ And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.

Ezra 3:8-13 ESV

But many of the priests and Levites

and heads of fathers 'houses, old

men who had seen the first house,

wept with a loud voice when they

saw the foundation of this house

being laid, though many shouted

aloud for joy,

Ezra 3:8-13 ESV

so that the people could not

distinguish the sound of the joyful

shout from the sound of the people's

weeping, for the people shouted

with a great shout, and the sound

was heard far away.

2 Chronicles 6:18-21 ESV

"But will God indeed dwell with man

on the earth? Behold, heaven and

the highest heaven cannot contain

you, how much less this house that I

have built! Yet have regard to the

prayer of your servant and to his

plea, O Lord my God,

2 Chronicles 6:18-21 ESV

listening to the cry and to the prayer

that your servant prays before you,

that your eyes may be open day

and night toward this house, the

place where you have promised to

set your name, that you may listen

to the prayer that your servant offers

toward this place. And listen to the

2 Chronicles 6:18-21 ESV

pleas of your servant and of your

people Israel, when they pray

toward this place. And listen from

heaven your dwelling place, and

when you hear, forgive.

Hebrews 10:19-25 ESV

Therefore, brothers, since we have

confidence to enter the holy places

by the blood of Jesus, by the new

and living way that he opened for

us through the curtain, that is,

through his flesh, and since we have

a great priest over the house of

God,

Hebrews 10:19-25 ESV

let us draw near with a true heart in

full assurance of faith, with our

hearts sprinkled clean from an evil

conscience and our bodies washed

with pure water. Let us hold fast the

confession of our hope without

wavering, for he who promised is

faithful.

Hebrews 10:19-25 ESV

And let us consider how to stir up

one another to love and good

works, not neglecting to meet

together, as is the habit of some, but

encouraging one another, and all

the more as you see the Day

drawing near.

Jeremiah 29:10-14 ESV

"For thus says the Lord: When

seventy years are completed for

Babylon, I will visit you, and I will

fulfill to you my promise and bring

you back to this place. For I know

the plans I have for you, declares

the Lord, plans for welfare and not

for evil, to give you a future and a

hope.

Jeremiah 29:10-14 ESV

Then you will call upon me and

come and pray to me, and I will

hear you. You will seek me and find

me, when you seek me with all your

heart. I will be found by you,

declares the Lord, and I will restore

your fortunes and gather you from

all the nations and all the places

Jeremiah 29:10-14 ESV

where I have driven you, declares

the Lord, and I will bring you back

to the place from which I sent you

into exile.

Ezra 3:10-11 ESV

And when the builders laid the

foundation of the temple of the Lord,

the priests in their vestments came

forward with trumpets, and the

Levites, the sons of Asaph, with

cymbals, to praise the Lord,

Ezra 3:10-11a ESV

according to the directions of David

king of Israel. And they sang

responsively, praising and giving

thanks to the Lord, "For he is good,

for his steadfast love endures

forever toward Israel.“

Ezra 3:11b ESV

And all the people shouted with a

great shout when they praised the

Lord, because the foundation of the

house of the Lord was laid.

Ezra 3:12a ESV

But many of the priests and Levites

and heads of fathers 'houses, old

men who had seen the first house,

wept with a loud voice when they

saw the foundation of this house

being laid…

Ezra 3:12b-13 ESV

…though many shouted aloud for

joy, so that the people could not

distinguish the sound of the joyful

shout from the sound of the people's

weeping, for the people shouted

with a great shout, and the sound

was heard far away.

2 Timothy 2:1-4 ESV

You then, my child, be strengthened

by the grace that is in Christ Jesus,

and what you have heard from me

in the presence of many witnesses

entrust to faithful men who will be

able to teach others also.

2 Timothy 2:1-4 ESV

Share in suffering as a good soldier

of Christ Jesus. No soldier gets

entangled in civilian pursuits, since

his aim is to please the one who

enlisted him.
