North Carolina and 24 other support ships.Five American and Australian cruisers
guarder the actual landing craft gathered off of Tenaru on Guadalcanal.
On August 8 Us lost 4 CruisersOver 7,000 US casualties and over 24,000
Japanese casualties.The allied troops won the battle
