Logging into Athens: a brief guide

WHAT IS ATHENS?

Athens is a password system that controls access to most of our electronic resources such as databases, e-books and e-journals.

You need to log into Athens in order to access Brookes e-resources off campus. Some resources require you to log into Athens even when you’re on campus.

All you need are your Brookes login details – your staff/student number and portal password.

To log into Athens, go to the Library home page.

IF YOU FORGET TO LOG IN….

Don’t worry if you forget to log into Athens

on the Library home page. You can always use the green Athens login link

which appears on every page.

REMEMBER…

Always log into Athens if you’re off campus.

Log in on the Library web site – not when you get to the database.

If you see an additional login screen – don’t log in again. Look for an Athens button and click on this to proceed.
