1. '' The seniority of the employees in any particular cadre shall be

considered on the basis of prescribed educational qualifications-cum-

lenghtof service put in by them in that cadre on the date of vacancy

" A Lecturer will be eligible for placement in a senior scale through a

procedure of selection if He/She has

(I) Completed 6 years of service after regular appointment with relaxation

of one year and two years, respectively, for those with M.Phil and Ph..D.

(II) Participated in one orientstion course and one refresher course of

approved duration, or engaged in other approprite continuing education

programmmes of comparable quality as may be specified or approved by

University Grants Commission.

( Those with Phd degree would be exempted from one refresher course)

(III) Consistently satisfactory performance appraisal reports.

" Minimum length of service for eligibilityto more in to the grade of Lecturer (

Senior Scale) would be Four Years for those with Ph. D. , Five Years for those

with M.Phil and Six Years for others as a Lecturer

For every upward movement a selection procedure would be envolved,

For which appropriate guidelines would be laid down by the U.G.C. in

consultation with the Govt.Of India.

Teachers of this University recruited on or after 1st April, 1982

shall automatically be Governed by the pension scheme inclusive

of Family pension Gratuity etc. as prescribed by the Government of

Gujarat in the Education Department under its Resolution

NO.NGC - 1582 / 9595 (84) - Kh, dated 15-10-84 as

amended from time to time .

Notwithstanding anything contained elsewhere in the Statutes of

exisiting before 1 / 4 / 82 shall have the option within the period of six months

from the date of assent of this revised Statute, either to continue to draw the

benefits of Contributory Provident Fund and Gratuity as are available under

Statutes 159 to 172 and 173 as ameneded from time to time or to come under

the pension scheme. The option once exercised shall be final. The teachers who

do not exercise option within stipulated period shall be deemed to have opted

for the retention of the benefits admissible to them before 1 / 4 / 82

For the staff recruited on and from 1 / 10 / 84 the age of supernnuation

retirement shall be 58 years and for the staff recruited before 1 / 10 / 84 the

age of supernnuation retirement shall be 60 years.

In case where the teachers opt for this scheme of pension etc. the contribution

of the University to gether with interest thereon standing at their credit will be

credited to Government within two months from the date they exercise their

option to the head XL VIII - Contribution and recoveries towards pension and

other retirement benefits.

Teachers of this University recruited on or after 1st April, 1982 shall

automatically be governed by the pension scheme inclusive of Family pension

Department under its Resolution NO. NGC-1582 / 9595 (84) - Kh, dated

15-10-84 as amended from time to time.

"B.Ed. (Basic Education) 0.1 A Candidate for the degree of the Bachelor of Education (Basic

Education) must be a degree holder of B.R.S. or Arts of Saurashtra University or any other recognized University, provided that.

A) The candidates with the Principal/Major subjects at B.RS. (Lok Shikshan), or Arts of Gujarati or Hindi or English will be admitted in language group (i.e., Gujarati, Hindi,English).

B) The Candidates with the Principal/Major subjects at B.R.S. level of social Reconstruction, Agronomy, Horticulture & Forestry, Rural - Economics and Animal Husbandry will be admitted in the relevant subject.

C) In the language group, each subject must be given equal proportion i.e., 50% of the candidates will be taken from Arts & 50% from B.R.S. (Lok Shikshan) in each subject shall be eligible for admission as per provision of percentage marks decided by N.C.T.E.

1. Kept the required minimum attendance for each term as laid down in that behalf in college of education in Saurashtra University.

2. Completed a course of practical work extending over two terms to the satisfaction of the head of the college in which the candidate is studying consisting of :

a. Attendance at demonstration and discussion lessons.

b. Observation of lessons as prescribed.

c. Teaching practices as prescribed in the subjects selected by the candidate including skill lesson practice.

d. Attendance at tutorials/guidance for the discussion of theory.

e. Submission of practical work related for the discussion of theory.

3. No candidate shall be allowed to undertake any job during the working hours of the concerned college.

4. No candidate shall be allowed to join any other course simultaneously alongwith B.Ed.(Basic Education).

5. The course is one year full-time residential course. The examination for the degree of B.Ed. (Basic Education) shall consist of :

Part A : Written Examination Theory Part B : Practice work Part C : Community - living
