born with epilepsy, and for years had to sit and watch his brother
bounding through playground climbing frames, or joshing in sand pits.
Now Aron too can join in at some 30 playgrounds in Budapest - and
another 30 nationwide- that have installed MagikMe equipment. "It
helps Aron a lot to mingle with able-bodied peers", said Ms Harsanyi, as
she helped him onto a modified see-saw called the "Butterfly". With two

prevent falls, children can climb out of whellchairs or be laid down to
enjoy the ride without needing a helper to hole them.

A countryman’s son by accident trod upon on a snake’s tail which
turned and bit him so that he died. The father in a range got his axe
and pursuing the snake, cut off part of its tail. So, the snake in
revenge began stinging several of the farmer’s cattle and caused him

snake, and brought food and honey to the mouth of the lair, and said
to it, “ Let's forget and forgive; perhaps you were right to punish my
son, and take vengeance on my cattle, but surely I was right in trying
to revenge him; now that we both satisfied why should not we be
friends again”? “ No, no”, said the snake. “Take away your gifts; you
can never forget the death of your son, nor I the loss of my tail”,
injuries may be forgiven but not forgotten.
Questions:

c)How did the snake react when he lost his tail?
d)What did the farmer offer the snake and tell him?

Compared to a motor bike or a car, the bicycle is a slow moving
vehicle but its popularity has been on the increase in recent years.
There are many reasons for this. First the bicycle is the cheapest
mode of transport which does not require petrol or diesel as a car or
motor bike does. In these days of fuel shortage this is a decided
advantage. It is small, light, convenient and draws its power from the
rider. There are no parking problems. It takes one to the destination
with more certainty than cars or large motor bikes which are often
held up in traffic jams.
It causes no noise, no smoke and it is eco-friendly as it produces
no pollution. Finally riding a bicycle is a good exercise which reduces
the blood sugar and tones up one's heart and muscles. As a result it
makes one keep away from the doctor for ever.
Questions:
a) What is the most important reason for the popularity of the
bicycle?
b) How is the bicycle convenient to reach one's destination of travel?
c) Is bicycle a health hazard? Why?
d) How does cycling keep us fit?
e) Identify one more reason for the popularity of the bicycle.
