Jigglypuff Pattern and Tutorial
Please read the whole tutorial before you begin!
You will need:
● printer, scissors, pencil, glue, transparent nailpolish● fabric in the following colors: pink (about 1m), white (20 cm), black (optional,
for ears)● thread in the following colors: pink, black● fabric pens - I don't recommend felt pens because the parts that are painted are
rather big - in the following colors: green or blue (see note), red, black● stuffing: there is special stuffing that you can usually buy at any store that sells
fabric or craft supplies; I recommend buying a big pack (1kg) as they are usually a lot cheaper and you need a lot for this plushy; I do not recommend ordinary cotton wool as it makes a mess and might ruin your whole plushy
● sewing machine
Note on colors: It's hard to tell if the eyes are blue or green. I made them blue but I'll leave the decision up to you.Size: about 40cmLevel of difficulty: easy
Some reference pictures:
Part 1: Preparation
● Read the tutorial, decide on colors.● Print patterns and cut them out.● Buy anything you need.● Draw patterns on the fabric using a pencil or special chalk.
Mouth and eyes are white, the rest is pink.Important: Parts which aren't symmetrical and are needed in pairs or a multiple of two (e.g. the ringlet): Draw half of the amount with the pattern face up and the other with its face down.
● Don't forget the seam allowance. Cut the pieces out.
Part 2: Sewing
The body
The body is easy to make. Do you know these kinds of balls? Yup, that is basically what you are going to sew.
Sew all six pieces together but don't forget to leave one side half-open for stuffing. Stuff and close. Now you have a big pink ball.
Feet, arms, ears, ringlet
Feet and arms: Simply sew them together, leave open where the arrow indicates. Stuff and close.
Ears: Sew, then paint the black part on (with fabric pens) or glue/sew some black fabric on. Stuff and leave open - I think you get the part with the arrow.
Ringlet: That's the thing on Jigglypuff's head. As usual: sew, stuff, leave open.
Eyes and mouth
Paint the blue or green irises on, paint the mouth red and black. Iron the parts when they are dry - remember, I recommended fabric pens (fabric paint is ok, too). Now take your sewing machine, black thread, switch to zig-zag stitch and sew all around the eyes and mouth like this (you'd best be doing this twice):
Cut off excess seam allowance and if you're paranoid use some nailpolish on the edges. Well, use some, even if you're not paranoid.
Part 3: Putting everything together (more sewing, that is)
Decide where you want the face to be. Now sew or glue the eyes and mouth on.Sew the arms and feet on. Arms go right and left of the face, feet on the underside. Now sew the ears and ringlet in place, refer to the following pictures:
There you go. Now keep this little guy away from microphones and waterproof pens. And please don't use him as a ball, Jigglypuff has feeling, too ;)
