TRIP NOTES
Jewels of the Adriaticarchitecture – of special interest is the
magnificent Diocletian Palace, once inhabited
by the Roman Emperor. After the tour, return
to the ship for a welcome meet and greet, and
cocktail reception on board. Overnight in Split.
Overnight - Split - onboard (D)
Day 2 : Beautiful Bol and Hvar
Split - Hvar. Morning departure to Brač Island
where swimming is planned at the most
famous beach in Dalmatia – Zlatni Rat near Bol
– whose gravel promontory shifts from side to
side as the wind and waves constantly change
its shape. Bol is a typical fishermen’s village
converted into a popular tourist destination.
We continue towards the jet-set island Hvar,
with lunch on board at the Pakleni Islands.
Hvar is the longest and sunniest island in
the Adriatic, known for lavish lavender fields
and breathtaking beauty. Afternoon arrival
followed by a short presentation of lavender
products and a tour of the town’s historical
landmarks - the Renaissance Cathedral with
its original tower, and the oldest community
theatre in Europe founded in 1612. Hike up
to the town fort overlooking the harbour for
some lovely scenic views of your ship and
the Pakleni Islands. This evening, Hvar offers
an abundance of entertainment - numerous
restaurants, bars and cafes are all open long
into the night.
Overnight - Hvar - onboard (B, L)
Day 3 : Vis and optional BlueCave visit
Hvar - Bisevo - Vis. Early morning, we cruise
towards the small island Bičevo, to visit the
Blue cave, a magnificent natural phenomenon
(weather dependant and entrances fee paid
on arrival – approx. EUR 14pp). Continue
to the island of Vis, once a strategic Naval
Yugoslav Base and closed to the public. Due
to this isolation, Vis has a special charm –
“the Mediterranean as it once was” making it
really interesting place to visit. Situated on the
northern side of the island, Vis has developed
near the remains of ancient Issa, the first urban
centre in Croatia. Try some exquisite wines in
one of Vis’s traditional wineries. If interested,
visit the remains of the Roman thermal place,
City Museum or simply take a walk and enjoy
the views of the beautiful Village Rusticae
situated along the waterfront. Overnight - Vis
- onboard (B, L)
Day 4 : Enchanting Korcula
Vis - Korcula. Early morning departure
towards Korčula Island best known as the
birthplace of Marco Polo, and stop for lunch
in one of the secluded bays en route.
Afternoon arrival in Korčula followed by
a guided walking tour of this enchanting
town surrounded by walls, and one of
the best preserved medieval cities in the
Mediterranean. The fish bone street pattern
was used in Korčula Old Town, designed to
reduce effects of wind and sun and provide
citizens with sheltered and comfortable
accommodation. Korčula has an abundant
choice of restaurants to enjoy your gourmet
experience and there are numerous bars
and clubs for those looking for evening
entertainment. Optional excursion to small
village near Korčula for typical Dalmatian
dinner and to find out more about the history
and traditional way of living. Overnight -
Korcula - onboard (B, L)
Day 5 : Famous salt lakes inthe Mljet National Park
Korcula - Mljet. Next morning, we head further
south to the Island of Mljet. The legend says
Greek hero Odysseus spent years on this
island when he was captured by the nymph
Calypso. Join the cruise manager for a stroll
to the famous salt lakes in the Mljet National
Park and enjoy the boat ride to the St Mary
Isle to visit an ancient Benedictine Monastery,
an old abbey and a church dating back to
the 12th century. Alternatively, you can rent
kayaks, bicycles, scooters or convertible cars
to roam around the National Park and island
independently, but beware of the nymphs.
Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the island.
Dinner on board and overnight in port Polača
or Pomena. Overnight - Mljet - onboard (B, L,

of Gothic style. Before we tie the ropes at

What to packOur Croatia cruises are casual and there is
no dress code. We recommend packing a
comfortable pair of walking shoes and some
footwear that is suitable for the beach/sea
because the beaches in Croatia are pebbly
(not sandy). Casual cotton clothes, sandals,
sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and swimwear
are a must. The average temperature during
July and August is 28 °C. Be sure to
bring some clothing for possible cooler
evenings (e.g. a jacket and some trousers)
for spring and autumn departures. Fishing
equipment, scuba diving masks etc. are
available onboard, but in limited quantities.
You can bring your own or buy it at places

service and your satisfaction with the guide/
cruise manager, crew and overall tour. Crew
gratuities are equally distributed among the

As as suggestion we recommend that you
budget the following -

per half day of sightseeing)
- Restaurants & Cafes: If not included, tip
10%-15% of the check, depending on the
quality of
service
- Taxis: Tip up to 10% of the fare (We
recommend you book taxis via your tour/
cruise manager and pre-negotiate taxi fares to
avoid unpleasant surprises at the end of the
journey
Tipping is an entirely personal gesture and
ultimately the amount is up to you.
Currency & paymentsEven though Croatia joined the EU in July
2013, the main currency accepted is the
