About the placement Cell:
Jeppiaar Institute of Technology has an independent Training and Placement cell devoted to cater to the needs of
organization in conducting ON/Pool Campus Recruitment processes, providing Career Guidance for students, conducting
effective Training programmes and employability bridging courses from First year to Final year students. This commitment
is demonstrated by the existence of a full-time Management and Placement Officer. The benefits of this assistance are
reflected in the preparation of Students who are able to secure lucrative and esteemed position in recent years.
Training and placement cell develop strong corporate relations with major IT and Core industries and establishes good
rapports with CEOs and HR Managers. The Training and Placement Division ensures smooth organization of various events
related to ON--Campus placement events, OFF-Campus events conducted at our college by CUIC, Anna University and
many Pool-Campus recruitments at our college. Placement officer takes care to provide best possible arrangements with
regard to infrastructure, smart lecture halls, Pre-placement Presentations, and hospitality for visiting corporate personnel.
The Training and placement cell identify the training needs of the students and imparts training through reputed training
institutes. Online coding platforms like TechGig, Hacker rank, Coding Bat were introduced to students’ community to
ensure the effective Self Practicing Tool to make them industry ready professionals for product and service-based Industries.
The Placement cell Strives hard to towards the student’s community improve their communication Skills and Presentation
Skills.
The training & Placement service operates year-round to facilitate contacts between companies & Graduates. Staff members
are available to respond to student’s questions and concerns of all kinds. This may mentor on placement procedures; help
to prepare application and resumes and mock Interviews. The aim is to ensure that students have the information and skills
necessary for an effective job search.
Those considering careers in education or its related fields are offered detailed career guidance at the Training & Placement
Cell. All counselling is based on up to-date placement statistics and an envisioned view of future educational and industrial
trends.

Career Guidance Program :
This is to inform that, Entrepreneur Development Cell (EDC) & Placement Cell of Jeppiaar Institute of Technology
was organized an event “Career Guidance Program” in association with Board of Apprenticeship Training (Southern
Region), Chennai on 19.12.2019 (Thursday). 92 final year students from various departments participated in the
program. The event chief guest was Mr.M.Suresh Kumar, Assistant Director of Board of Apprenticeship Training
(Southern Region), Chennai.
COUNSELLING SESSION
COUNSELLOR: Ms.KEERTHANA SWAMINATHAN,

DATE: 13-08-2019
TIME: 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm
A counselling session was conducted for II and III year students on 13-08-19 at 12:00 noon. A set of 70 students were
selected to attend this session. The selection of the students was done based on their academic performance. Less
prepared students with the history of two or more arrears were selected to be a part of the counselling. The speaker,
Ms.Keerthana Swaminathan, a Psychologist by profession, handled the session enthusiastically in an interactive
manner. The topics discussed were
1. Setting of goal
2. Journey towards the attainment of goal
3. Obstacles to achieve goal
4. Overcoming the obstacles to reach goal
Students were motivated and inspired by the examples provided by the speaker. They were encouraged to perform better
in the academics. Feedback provided by the students indicate the positive impact of the session.

COUNSELLING SESSION FOR FIRST YEAR STUDENTS

A counselling session was conducted for first year students on 4.11.2019 from 10:00 am to 12:15 pm at Seminar Hall.
Psychologist, Dr. Getsy Solomon was the invited resource person who guided the students on “Me and My Studies with
Scheduling”.
A group of 62 students from all the Departments of first year classes attended the session. The students were grouped
based on their academic performance. Students proximate to attain a pass status in all the subjects with a tinge of
motivation and counselling were sorted out. Students were enthusiastic and extended their complete involvement
throughout the session.
The session started with a stress relieving meditation- cum- visualization activity, ensuring the curiosity and
participation of students. This was followed by a motivational talk to draw the students toward the achievement of their
goals. Setting of schedules, including all the basic requirements of a student was also introduced. Students were made
to set a schedule for themselves. The session was lively and highly interactive with many theme-based activities.
Feedback was collected from the students and a report was submitted by the resource person.

A counselling session was conducted for the sports students and the students with a history of Tamil as a medium of
instruction in school, belonging to I,II and III year on 16-03-20 at 10:00 am. A set of 50 students attended this session.
These students were counselled to improve their academic performance. The Psychologist, Dr. M. Lakshman Kumar,
who is specialized in Sports Psychology, easily assessed the students fear in balancing academics and sports. The session
insisted on the following topics
• Time management • Overcoming stress • Getting rid of Inferiority complex
The encouragement provided by the resource person to balance various aspects of life is a special boost to the students.
They were motivated to perform better in academics. A one- on- one counselling session was also provided to nineteen
students. Su ccess of the session was considered by the positive feedback provided by the students.

Placement cell of Jeppiaar Institute of Technology has organized "Motivational talk" by Dr. Augustin Kamaraj a well
renowned MBBS Doctor, and a psychology consultant for our II and III year students at our main auditorium.His
speech was so practical and inspiring to all our students.

Placement cell of Jeppiaar Institute of Technology had sucessfully conducted a Tech talk and an Industrial sharing
experience from Mr.Dhanasingh Vinoth,Business Manager-Amazon web services in our Main auditorium for our II and III
year students. It was truly a knowledge gaining session.

Cyber Security MOU was signed between Jeppiaar Institute of Technology and Auriseg Consulting
Pvt Ltd and Defsecone Consulting Pvt Ltd on 06.11.2019, in the presence of Dr. N.Marie Wilson,
Managing Director, Jeppiaar Institute of Technology, and Chief Guest Mr. Sreenivasan, Director,
Auriseg Consulting Private Ltd and Mr. Giri, Director, Defsecone Consulting Private Ltd. This MOU
has been signed to enhance the institutes interaction with the industry.

Memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Softura in the field of Internet of Things (IOT)
Jeppiaar Institute of Technology and Softura private limited signed a Memorandum of understanding
(MOU) recently regarding a major technical mission in the field of Internet of Things (IOT), The
Managing Director of Jeppiaar Institute of Technology N Marie Wilson and director of Softura
private limited Priyadarshini exchange the MOU, at a function in the college premises.
The agreement aims to promote a sustainable framework for the present and future partnership, by
setting up an IOT lab and co-operative action between Jeppiaar Institute and Softura by promoting
technical education in futuristic technologies for the betterment of humanity.
