Key words: open data, service ecosystem, interoperability, developers

Context: cities are organisms, not machines. Smart city services must be designed for and with the people.

The public sector – as well as other actors in the city – creates lots of data, which can be used in smart services.

GOAL

PROBLEM

PROMOTING MORE MORE SUSTAINABLE WAYS OF LIVING IN CITY BY ANABLING HOUSING WITH A BACKBONE OF SERVOCES TO SHARE TANGIBLE AND INTANGIBLE ASSETS BETWEEN POEPLE IN COMMUNITY

Problem: Most of the data is locked away even for the city itself. Without access to data and services to utilize it, it does not create value and it does not mean anything to the people (except nerds).

Strategy Support the ecosystem to harness the innovation power of the entire urban community. Open the public data to be used, re-used and distributed by companies and communities for free.

Solution: Helsinki Region Infoshare, Open Data clearing house to find, harmonize, open, publish and utilize the data. Innovation, efficiency and transparency.

Open the data Use the data

What next?Infoshare is fine. But smart cities must be interoperable.

Thank you.--- and let’s share.
