JANUARY 2013
The Texas 4-H and Youth Development Program will host its’ third “Tweet-Up” on Twitter on January 10, 2013 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. This “tweet-up” will use twitter and to join the conversation, just tag each of your post with the hash tag of #TX4HCONVO. Using this hash tag as you post will then let everyone know your questions and thoughts and we can respond back. This will be your last chance before scholarships are due to ask questions and hear from the experts.
See more info on 4-H Scholarships on page 10. Remember, Texas 4-H Opportunity Scholarship applications are due in the Extension Office by February 1, 2013.
ALL 4-H members, parents, and County Agents are invited to join Texas 4-H at the 4-H Day at the Capitol on February 6, 2013 in Austin, Texas. Registration is $20/person and is open on 4-H CONNECT thru January 18.

CLUB BASKET RAFFLEDid you know??? United Way supports our organization financially so we can focus on projects and activities, instead of fundraising all the time. Ever wonder where the money comes from to pay for team entry fees for contests? Who pays for your awards at the Banquet and for prizes at County Contests? Where do the supplies and groceries for Food Challenge come from? Most of these funds come from our 4-H budget from United Way!The purpose of the Club Baskets Raffle is to show support for United Way, and also to give to another local non-profit agency. This year all proceeds from the Raffle and also from the Silent Auction will be split 60/40 between United Way and Erath County Humane Society.• Each 4-H Club in Erath County is asked to
donate a themed basket filled with goodies.• There is not a dollar limit on the baskets, and
donated items are great!• Cash Prize – Each club that sells tickets will
entered in a drawing for a cash prize! • Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. • There will be separate drawings for each basket.• Purchase of a ticket will get you a chance to win
any of the 8 baskets. However, you cannot win more than one basket.
• Raffle tickets can be picked up at the Extension Office.
Every 4-H member is encouraged to sell raffle tickets, because every 4-H member benefits in some way from the funds we receive from United Way!
CLUBMANAGERS:Please designate someone to be responsible for getting your basket AND your raffle tickets and $$ to the Extension Office by 5 pm on Thursday, January 10th OR to the County Show Grounds by 8 am on Saturday, January 12th.
Winners are drawn on Saturday, so it is important that all baskets and sold raffle tickets are on site early Saturday morning.

Send us your photos for
this year's 4-H SCRAPBOOK!Last year our County Council made a very nice 4-H Scrapbook. Everyone has commented on how terrific it would be to have one for every year. So we are asking 4-Hers parents and volunteers for your help. Email your photos of 4-H members & events to erath-tx@tamu.edu and include "4-H Scrapbook" in the subject line.
THANK YOU!
