James H. Johnson, Sr., 91, passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at The Landing in Stoneoak, San Antonio. James was born in Cravens, Louisiana, on February 22, 1926, to Bessie and Charlie Johnson. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. James was a longtime resident of Beaumont and Vidor and retired from P.D. Glycol as a Mechanical Design Draftsman.

James is survived by his son, James Johnson, Jr. and his wife, Trudy, of Beaumont; daughter, Pam Schooley and her husband, Ed, of Canyon Lake; grandchildren, Heather Campbell

and her husband, Thomas, of Montgomery; Colby Johnson and his wife, Ashley of Bend, Oregon; Gabrielle Forson and her fiancé, Jeff Dennings of Austin; Billy Wormley and his wife, Tia, of Beaumont; great-grandchildren, Liberty and Laney Campbell, of Montgomery, Trystan and Mattison Forson of Austin and Eva and Griffin Wormley of Beaumont; brother-in-law Wayne Moye of Kountze; and sister-in-law Phyllis Johnson of Vidor, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Johnson.

Special thanks for the entire staff at The Landing as well as River City Hospice. We could not have asked for a more caring group of individuals.
