Volume 38, No. 3 APRIL 2015
Inside the Hahn and Vorbach Facility ...
Multi-Club Tech Session April 18 By Rich Aronson Please join us along with the Mercedes Benz Club of Pittsburgh
and the Studebaker/Avanti Club on Saturday, April 18, from
10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at one of the highest level restoration
facilities in western PA, Hahn and Vorbachs, located at 321
Perry Highway in Harmony PA (one mile off I-79 Exit 88).
Bill Hahn and Paul Vorbach have won multiple national
awards for their work and specialize not only in rare British cars
(Jaguar, HRG, Morgan, Austin Healey and others) but have built
unique technology and an international reputation for the precise
factory quality restoration of Mercedes 300 SL roadsters and
Gull Wing coupes.
As an added inducement to attract our club members (some of
whom including me have used Bill and Pauls expert mechanical
and show quality metal-working/painting talent for many years),
Scott who was a service technician with Jim Boffo, continues his
fastidious work for vintage Jaguar owners as a key employee of
Hahn Vorbach.
Upon your arrival, coffee, bagels, breakfast quiche and Danish
will be available. Bill, Paul, Scotty and Amy, Bills daughter want
me to pass on their wish that we come hungry and prepare to
talk about cars with them and the other fine vintage car club
members who will join us!
Dont miss this event. Bill and Paul will be setting up stations to
discuss and demonstrate a number of restoration techniques and
subjects such as metal working, buffing, restoration dos and
donts among other ideas under development for us. Please RSVP to me, Rich Aronson, by e-mail if you will be coming by Friday, April 10, 2015 so we have a sense of numbers. No charge for
our members! Hope to see you there.

Presidents Message By Bill Cooper
Saturday, March 28 found club members gathering at The Sharp Edge Bistros Loft
room in downtown Pittsburgh. Great beer, great food and great friendship. We had up-
dates on several upcoming events and a brief overview of the recent JCNA Annual Gen-
eral Meeting by Don Johnson. Mike Zappa also gave a short commentary on the impacts
to us of the escalating values of some of our older and more desirable Jags. Thanks again
to Jack and Pat Terrick for organizing this terrific evening.
There has been more progress on filling in the event calendar since last month. First,
coming quickly is the April 18 tour of Hahn & Vorbach Restoration in Harmony, spon-
sored by Rich Aronson. Dont miss this one! On Saturday, June 20, Stuart Steinberg has
arranged a session on Automotive Photography. The group will meet in Cranberry and
convoy to Akron, Ohio for the session and lunch. Chuck Pipich and his team have re-
ceived a commitment for the Sewickley Show date of August 8. Bring your car out to
enjoy the day, even if you just want to display-only without judging. Finally, on August 22, "Jaguars at Jacksons"
Restaurant in Southpointe near Canonsburg is in final planning by Dave and Karen Gamret. Jacksons will provide a
roped-off parking area for our members cars near the entrance. Cash bar will start at 6:00 p.m. with dinner at 7:00.
Details and menu will follow.
Near term, Import Carlisle is just around the corner the weekend of May 15-17, so put together a box or two of Jag
(or other import!) parts you want to sell and contact me. On the following Friday, May 22, the Steel Plaza show will
be held in downtown Pittsburgh, and you can register with Ed Graham or Cecile Canales. Look for details on these
events elsewhere in this issue of the Jargon. Finally, please let me hear from you regarding ideas for other future
events, and how to interest and involve new enthusiast owners of some of the more contemporary Coventry offer-
ings.
Hope to see you at the April tour.
