The AcademyYear 9 into 10 Options Evening

Traditional, linear GCSE curriculum leading on to A Levels or BTECS in the Academy Sixth Form.

All Academy students follow a GCSE core curriculum:

• English Language and Literature• Maths• Double Science• PE and PSHCEPlus up to 4 further option choices. At least one of these must be History, Geography, a Language, Triple Science or Computer Science.All Set 1 Language students should continue to study a language.

Year 9 into 10 Options Evening

Contemporary curriculum leading on to BTECs or A Levels in the Studio Sixth Form.

All Studio students do the same GCSE core curriculum as the Academy and also have a Work Experience placement as 1 option choice.

Students then make a choice from either Construction and Engineering or Health & Social Care with Hospitality as 2 option choices.

1 more choice from a range of BTEC and Level 2 subjects including BTEC Sport, Creative I-Media and Managing My Money or a limited number of GCSEs such as Textiles or Geography.

for the whole of Year 9 in every subject.

Initial subject choices will be entered via an online form which will be emailed tomorrow.

Choose subjects in preference order from drop down menu, remember a reserve and click submit.

All choices submitted by Feb 6th.

These subject choices are then used to construct the ‘best-fit’ options pools for the timetable.

• Research subjects over the coming weeks.

• Seek support from your parents, subject and form teachers or Mrs Pickford in Careers.

• Initial subject choices are used to make the option pools and meet as many students' choices as possible.

• No guarantee of everybody’s preferences due to timetable and staffing restrictions.

• Changes can be made during the options process depending on option pool combinations.

• Some subjects may refer to progress data in related subjects before accepting students.

• Subject choices will be made online.
