Introduction:Introduction:Pertinence of the project Pertinence of the project

Each PV System has a Productivity which can be defined as the efficiency of this system when operating on site, under real conditions, for a long period (month, year, …)

The Productivity of PV systems is the key factor which determine the success of PV projects.

The good assessment of the Productivity is therefore Very Important for investors' decisions in PV

Establishment of a Reliable Moroccan Productivity Mapping of3 kinds of grid-connected PV power plants (Mono-Si, Poly-Si, a-Si:H)

Global Scope of the ProjectGlobal Scope of the Project

Specific Scopes of the ProjectSpecific Scopes of the Project

1. Direct measurements of the PV energy produced on 20 different Moroccan sites, under real operating conditions, each 15 min, to deduce the monthly and the yearly productivities in each site for each PV system.

2. Propose a simple method for data correction and appropriate extrapolation for all the other sites in Morocco

3. Use experimental data and extrapolation results to perform well calibrated (based on the on-site temperature and irradiation) productivity maps of the 3 grid-connected PV power plants anywhere in Morocco

Implementation of the Project Implementation of the Project

3 grid-connected PV micro-plants, based on 3 different PV technologies, of 2 kWp each, will be installed in 20 high education institutions from 20 different Moroccan cities.

Each institution will host exactly the same PV equipments

PV electricity generated is completely absorbed by the internal network

The PV productivity mappings will be available incomplete (Whole Productivity Map) or partial (Regional Productivity Maps) forms

4- Establishment of the PV productivity mapping for each one of the 3 technologies

The project is structured in 4 WPs:

1- Installation, grid-connection and maintenance of 60 PV stations in 20 different cities

2- Collection, sharing and use of the measurements

3- Data processing and analyses of the extrapolation results
