INTRODUCING NEW
ELOS PLUS APPLICATORS
Product Overview
Competitive Summary
Most powerful and efficient all-in-
one system without sacrificing safety
for efficacy.
• electro-optical synergy
• Two types of energy sources: (Optical) Light or Laser + Conducted Bi-Polar RF
• Optical energy: primarily absorbed in the target by the right choice of wavelength and pulse duration
• Bi-Polar RF energy: Chromophore independent – Heats tissue in which the current is conducted
elōs™ Technology
elōs™ Technology
electro-optical synergy =
Combining optical energies (laser or light) with conducted bi-
polar radio frequency (RF) energy
Optical Energy: Selective heating of the target chromophore
+ Bi-Polar RF Energy: Chromophore independent – bulk heating of the target tissue
Unprecedented Safety and Superior Results!
Light Behavior
Diffusive Reflection
30%-45%
Scattered Light
30%-40% Treated area
Incident Fluence
Only 20%-40% of light is absorbed in treated area
elos – IPL at 45J/cm2 + RF at 25J/cm3
elōs™ - The Science
of Combining Optical and RF energies
+
If you have target that needs to reach >70°C
Optical only - Needs to change the lesion temperature by 35°C
If Non-Selective RF can heat the whole tissue by 5°C
Only 30°C is now needed by the optical energy
15% reduction in optical energy
Instead of Using 35J/cm2 you can use 30J/cm2 to reach the same temperature
Practical Application of Combined Energies –
Without Synergy
=
Because of the change in conductivity from the application of optical energy
RF heated volume is reduced to 50% of the area, producing double the concentration
of current in the “Pre Heated” tissue
Now the RF application produces + 10°C
Only 25 °C is needed by Optical Energy
30 % Reduction in Optical Energy
Instead of Using 35J/cm2 you can use 25J/cm2 to reach the same temperature
Practical Application of Combined Energies –
WITH SYNERGY

What is “Comfortable” Laser Hair Removal Treatment? • Based on the accumulation of heat in the
target via multiple passes of with minor
selectivity in the target area
• Energy is delivered in a low fluence (6 -
10J/cm2) in a continuous motion
• Usually a 10Hz repetition rate is chosen,
which allows almost CW like operation
when combined with continuous hand
movements
• The first few passes both warm the follicles
and the surrounding tissue and eventually
the base temperature of dermis rises
enough so that the last couple of passes of
low fluence increase the follicles above the
coagulation/necrotic threshold

RF for Hair Removal Treatment (elos Motif)
How Can It Help Create Comfortable Treatments?
• 1MHZ Conducted Bi-Polar RF
can increased the bulk
dermal temperature
between 5-10°C per pulse
(30-50J/cm3)
• Can be pulsed synchronous
with the Laser for combined
synergistic heating of the
target – elos
• Heats tissue independently of
the target color or more
importantly increase risk to
epidermal structures

50-60° C Warm – Aches

• Hypothesis: Combined with the Laser the addition of RF should shorten number of passes to reach the target temperature of the
same sized treatment zone.
