Integers include all whole numbers positive and

negative (including zero).    

• Each integer has an opposite.

• An integer and it’s opposite have

the same distance away from zero on the number

line.

Since  2  and  -­‐2  are  both  2  spaces  away  from  zero  on  the  number  line,  they  are  opposites
