This document describes all recommended additional information which should be available for instructors to ensure a good quality standard of instructor information
This document describes all recommended additional information which should be available for instructors to ensure a good quality standard of instructor information. The document is stored within the Service Marketplace under the alias /curr-info (http://service.sap.com/curr-info).
This document especially is used for capturing dynamic information changing over time (for example existing bugs due to implemented support packages etc.) that cannot be included in the fixed XML based instructor guide.
Therefore every instructor should always have a look into this document when teaching a course to ensure that he or she has up to date information (that cannot be guaranteed just by the XML embedded instructor guide).
Before teaching the class, make sure that you TEST ALL EXERCISES AND DEMOS that you are about to show. The exercises make up the core of the class and should be shown as demos.
Make sure that you use the correct system landscape. A Landscape consists of the Cloud-System RA-- (including Windows, BI 4.0 System, DataServices) and the HANA box (i.e., lt006X), instance (XX being different for each training). Only the correct combination of Cloud-Environment and HANA box will work!
Please note: There is only one HA200 IG and this includes all the demos. The demonstration manual has been merged into this one document.HA200

Please note we are now providing a NEW WTS on Win 2008 with new install of all most up to date client installations necessary to run the course.
Your WTS alias would be HB-HA200SPS5-XXX. The information what the wild-card XXX means, you will receive from the local training administrator.
In the following example we replace that with dev.
.The WTS provides all clients and installations necessary to run the course.

11. Some important notes for the exercises Note 1 Exercise 5/6 (SLT/ Data Services ) Experience has shown that the most of our user use SLT for the data transformation . Therefor we have improved the exercise 5.After introduction you should know which students work with SLT or Data services. Depend from this knowledge you should decide which exercise you should carry out.The default recommendation is the SLT exercise.
Note 2
Attention (SPS05): only problematic by a creative demonstration. We take notice about the following issues, and inform the development:
Problem: During recovery, if HANA instance is in a limbo (i.e. data file missing, so index server is not running). Recovery won't stop the instance, and then won't be able to find backup pieces. (However, if you choose recover to a specific backup, you are given option to select backup and then recovery will stop semi-running instance).
This makes it impossible to select backup pieces (as HANA can't start name server temporarily). Need to manually stop the instance.
BUG: During recovery (manually stopped HANA instance) "Recover to the most recent" no mater which backup location selected, on the review recoery settings page the data backup volume is still the default. Recovery will fail is the backup is not in default dir.
Note 3Exercise 6 (Data Services) Please make sure that the STUDENT-## & STUDENT## users have productive password in TAS and HANA respectively before starting the exercise. 2012 SAP AG.
