Inspiration, Innovation &
Learning Alliance (ILLA) Maths Transition Project 2015
Context
● Newly formed learning alliance 2015
● 4 primary schools (P5-P2) with Glendale Technology HS
● Launch of IILA occurred beginning of Term 3, 2015
● Maths Project was first example of genuine
collaboration and curriculum co-planning for the
alliance

Data Analysis
● 1 full day at Edgeworth PS with staff representation from each school with 2 staff members from GTHS
● Each school identified 5 students in Year 6 (or Year 5 although they would not be part of the NAPLAN analysis 2016).
● Leading staff through NAPLAN analysis and creating groups of students for rich analysis.
● Identifying key concepts with which the group had most difficulty.
● Listed each schools on whiteboard and identified similar concepts from across the schools. The ten concepts were:

● Leading staff through the Maths Continuum and changes
from stage 3 to 4.

● High school staff identifying the most important
challenges for students in Year 7 with new curriculum.
