Devices of storage

Disc Solid

• As this one constructed a hard disk?• It is a device composed by one or several rigid

sheets of circular form, covered with a material that makes the magnetic recording of information possible. A normal hard disk turns to a speed of 3.600 revolutions per minute and the reading heads and writing .

• • from 10 to 25 millionth ones of inch move in the

surface of the disc on an air bubble of a depth.

Interface IDE

• It is most used in normal computers, due to his good relation presentations-prices. The standard IDE was extended by the norm ATA-2 in what it has been given in it named EIDE (Enhanced IDE or improved IDE), that agrees up to four devices. In each of the channels IDE there must be a main device (master) and another slave (slave). The master is the first one one is in the habit of assigning to him the being C, while the slave is in the habit of being the D.

Serial ATA

It is an interface of transfer of information between the motherboard and some devices of storage. Serial Ata substitutes the traditional to P-ATA. SATA provides major speeds, better utilization when there is several discs, major length of the cable of transmission of information and aptitude to connect discs in warmly (with the flushed computer)

ATA-66/100/133

• Simply it is a cable of transfer of information

SCSI

• The hard disks SCSI have the advantage with regard to the IDE not in his mechanics, but in that the transfer of information is more constant and independent from the work of the microprocessor, by it they are in the habit of using in servants and computers that multimedia and Autocad handle or when one realizes multitask of intensive form

Unidad de CD

• The reading of CD, also called CD player, is the optical device capable of reproducing the CD of audio, of video, of information, etc. Using a laser that allows him to read the information contained in the above mentioned discs.

CDR o CD-ROM

• It is a disc compact used to store not volatile information , can be read by a computer with reading of CD.

CDRW

• It is a digital optical support used to store any type of information. This type of CD can be engraved multiple times, since it is allowed that the stored information should be erased

DVDR

• This Type of alone CD can be engraved once
