What is Downloading?• To receive data from a remote

system to a local one.• Is is to copy data from a source to a

device.• It can also refer to copying a file

from a network file server to a computer on the network.

Examples of items that can be downloaded

• Computer games which you like• Microsoft Presentations• Pictures from your friends

• Uploading is the opposite of downloading.• It provides data from a local system

to a remote one.• It has the same properties as

downloading.

What is Uploading?

• Videos• Softwares• Pictures• Documents

• URL stands for Uniform Resource Locater, and is also known as web address.• It is a character string which

constitutes a reference to a source.• A URL contains a scheme name, a

server name, a domain name, a port number and the path of the resource.

• A web browser is a software application for receiving and providing information from the World Wide Web.
