Solution Overview

6

Track Fleets of Power Tools All the tools in the factory halls and in the field can be tracked for

their location. They will be programmed and enabled regarding to

the specific macro and micro-location.

2

Industrial handheld power tools Intelligent tools capture the quality of their work done and transmit the

results in real time. They are also remotely reconfigurable and can be

enabled/disabled as required.

1

Trace Processes & Actions Trace the action of all your tools and map them with the

connected product‘s lifecycle inside your factory and

out in the field.

Next Steps

RFI: Indoor Localization

Goals

• Create ability to offer Indoor localization with different

characteristics (cost, resolution/precicion, etc.)

• Create standardized interfaces to integrate different solutions

• Build ecosystem of solution providers / readily available modules

Process

• RFI (Request for Information) process initiated

• Currently in the process of defining RFI document and conditions

• Creation of „long“ list

• Invitations to be send out in Q2

T&T: Open Source & Standardization

21

Vorto (Eclipse Foundation/Open Source):

-IDL for the IoT

-Repository to manage large numbers

of versioned interfaces for IoT

Assets and Devices

- Ideal fit for heterogeneous fleets

of different power tools (T&T)

Standardization: Currently liaising

with OMG to define process for

standardization of T&T interfaces

(based on Vorto)

Tool interface extensions

Goals

• Extend functionality of T&T by adding different types of

handheld power tools (drilling, rivetting, measurement, etc.)

• Open up for other tool vendors

• Create ecosystem

Process

• Currently defining target list for additional tools (initial tool

was Rexroth Nexo)

• Create „long“ list

• Approach vendors in Q2

GTM & T&T Customer Advisory Board

GTM

• Gather and validate requirements and use cases

• Initiate PoCs and initial projects

Next: CAB (Customer Advisory Board)

• Automotive

• Aircraft manufacturing

• Equipment Manufacturing
