When production workers encounter problems with the machinesthey operate, they call industrial electronics technicians. Thetechnician’s work is important not only because an idle machinewill delay production, but also because a machine that is notproperly repaired and maintained may damage the final productor injure the operator.

Students receive a well-rounded education. In addition to hands-on experience in technical courses, students take courses in oral and written communications, computer skills, mathematicsand interpersonal skills. Those wishing to pursue a four-year degreemay qualify for the approved articulation pathway into theBachelor of Arts in Leadership and Professional Communications at Columbia College or the Bachelor of Arts in OrganizationalLeadership at the University of South Carolina’s Palmetto College.
