Dr. Jennifer McCormick was among those at the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) writing holiday messages to troops serving around the world.

IDOE employees created holiday greetings as part of Indiana’s first year participating in this program that started in New Hampshire.

Students in the MSD of Warren Township worked together to create their holiday greeting cards.

The Blackford High School Eighth Grade Homeroom Group represented their school in the Cards for Our Military Challenge.

As part of the Holiday Cards for Our Troops project, students at Scott Middle School in Hammond heard from local Veteran, Mr. Johnson, who talked about serving the country during the holidays.

Bloomfield Elementary School students are proud of the cards they are sending to our troops.

Students at George Rogers Clark Middle School are already looking forward to participating in the 2020 Cards for Our Troops initiative!

Students at Rykers’ Ridge Elementary School And Deputy Elementary School in Madison created their cards while learning about Veteran’s Day.

Handmade cards like this one from a student representing Rykers’ Ridge and Deputy elementary schools will certainly be a keepsake.

These Plainfield Community Middle School sixth graders are hard at work creating holiday greetings.

These Franklin Central High School students represent the enthusiasm schools across the state felt towards this project.

Franklin Township Middle School students wrote personal messages to troops.

“The response to this project from students and staff has been amazing. So proud of our Princeton High School Community.”

Webb Elementary students in Franklin worked with their art teacher, Rachel Brown, the mother of a serviceman, on these heartfelt cards.

The Greensburg Community High School Spirit Crew created cards for the project. The group will also collect donations for Thanksgiving Warrior Care Packages.

Burris Elementary School students in Mitchell devoted several weeks to creating and completing their greeting cards.

Lighthouse Christian Academy students enjoyed the opportunity to make cards for those serving in the military.

Batesville Intermediate School students were proud to represent their school by participating in the cards for troops project.

Students at Wilson Elementary School in Jeffersonville worked in groups to create their handmade cards.

On behalf of the Indiana Department of Education, thank you to everyone who made this project so successful. The troops receiving the cards our students have created will know how much love, appreciation, and support they have from Indiana. Through these cards, our students will leave a lasting impression on the men and women serving and protecting our nation around the world. What a wonderful gift we have shared.
