Incendies Magazine Issue #1: Trauma

DESCRIPTION

Incendies is York University’s only arts and culture feminist magazine. As a social advocacy group, we work to promote inclusive and queer-friendly feminist culture. We seek to highlight modern thought and diversity through a feminist, gendered, queer, sexuality, race, religion, ability lens (and so on!). The publication looks at current issues within and around the Toronto community by providing insightful critiques of popular culture and various forms of media representation, spotlighting local artists and their works, as well as showcasing Canadian literary talent. incendies is run through a strict anti-oppression, sex positive, interdisciplinary framework. As members of a diverse community we are striving to establish a greater level of communication and co-ordination between the feminist (and friendly) groups in the greater Toronto area & the York student body. We stand in solidarity with local advocacy groups and the wide array of feminist perspectives that are present.
