SUMMER CAMPSUMMER CAMP
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever” (1 Cor. 9:24-25).
As I write, the world’s best athletes are busy preparing their bodies and minds for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. They’re energized, focused, and dedicated to one goal: winning the gold.
As Christians, we too are training for our own important
race — the race of faith! Our prize? Eternal life. It’s never too early to begin training. What does it mean for young people to run their own race for God’s glory and His Kingdom? How can they win eternal “gold”?
This summer we’ll explore these questions and more at IdRaHaJe’s Summer Camp 2020: Training Ground!
Whether your child has never learned about the Bible or is a maturing young Christian, there’s something special for them here at IdRaHaJe. They’ll enjoy daily chapels, devotions, and weekly all-camp “Inspire” nights with relevant speakers and passionate praise and worship. From rock climbing to swimming, horse rides, hiking, and so much more, they’ll experience amazing outdoor adventures on our 262-acre campus in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.
Spots fill fast. Sign your child up today for a week at IdRaHaJe where they will learn what it means to have a relationship with Jesus Christ as we train for eternal life with Him! We can’t wait to see you this summer.
Sincerely,
Mike DeBoer Executive Director IdRaHaJe

SUNDAY CHECK-IN: Check in at the Gym & Education Center: 1:45–3:30pm. PLEASE NOTE: Pioneer Camps beginning mid-week check in Wednesday at Mountain Village: 1:30–3:00pm.
SATURDAY PICK-UP: Camper check-out begins at 7:45am. Free Continental Breakfast starts promptly at 8:00am followed by a closing presentation at each individual camp. Campers must be picked up by 9:00am.
MEDICATIONS & IMMUNIZATIONS: Please bring any medications, the Medication Form, and Physical Form to check-in, even if previously sent in. According to COLORADO STATE LAW, all campers must submit a complete set of shot records or signed exemption. Due to changes in Colorado Immunization guidelines, the immunization record MUST be on the approved Colorado Immunization Form. Campers CANNOT stay at Camp without this information completed upon check-in. Likewise, according to STATE LAW, no camper may keep any prescription or Over the Counter (OTC) meds, essential oils or homeopathic remedies in his or her possession. Our clinic is stocked with common OTC medications; however, all prescriptions, OTC medications, oils, remedies and vitamins that you send must remain in original labeled containers, accompanied by an IdRaHaJe Medication Form signed by your child’s doctor, with included dosage and frequency instructions. Please do not send anything in zip-lock bags OR in divided “daily” containers; we cannot accept them. If sibling campers are at separate camps, they each need their own medications. If you have any questions regarding medications, you can reach our camp nurse at nurse@idrahaje.org.
PHYSICALS: State law requires ALL campers to have a doctor-signed physical within the last 24 months prior to camp attendance — NO EXCEPTIONS. Some pharmacies offer a discounted sports physical. Please bring or submit documentation of your child’s physical.
BUNKING: If your camper wants to bunk with a friend, bunkmates can be chosen during the initial on-line registration process. One bunkmate request may be made per camper. Bunkmate requests are not guaranteed and may not be considered unless they are mutual.
VISITS: Visitors must get approval from full-time staff before they arrive and are required to sign in at the main office upon arrival. We do not recommend visiting your camper during their week as it has been shown to increase camper homesickness.
HOMESICKNESS: Our staff is trained to help campers who may have a natural tendency to feel homesick, but there are things you can do to help before they come! Have your child spend a night or two away from home to prepare for his or her first camp experience, tell them how proud you are, and make sure to send letters to them throughout the week. If a child is showing signs of homesickness for more than 24 hours, parents will be contacted to create an action plan which may include the child going home.
CLOTHING & EQUIPMENT: Camp is a great experience full of fun, laughter and lots of dirty clothes! Make sure to send kids with clothing you are okay with them possibly losing or getting dirty. Label everything and go through your child’s things with them so that they will recognize what belongs in their bag. For a complete list of items to pack, go to the Parent Information Page at www.idrahaje.org.
DO NOT SEND: Any electronic gadgetry (includ-ing smart devices), weapons, phones, toys, gum or snacks containing nuts.
CONTACTING YOUR CAMPER: Any correspon-dence must include your camper’s name, camp, and week they are attending in the email subject or mailing address. Send all snail mail well in advance.

CARE PACKAGES: Receiving a care package can be a special experience. We ask parents to send no more than two shoebox-sized packages per camper. There are three ways to have your child receive a care package during their time at Camp: 1) pre-make a care package and drop it off at the main office on Sunday after you check in your camper; 2) purchase items and assemble a care package at Uncle Paul’s Outpost on Sunday after registering; or 3) send a care package in the mail by following the directions under “Contacting Your Camper.”
CAMPER SPENDING MONEY & ACCOUNTS: Parents of all campers have the option to put money in a camper spending account during the on-line registration process. Most parents allot $30–$60, which campers can spend in one of our stores, snack shops or craft shops. Campers are also given the opportunity to donate to the missionary for the week. All campers will receive a wristband at registration. This wristband allows your child to access their spending account at all IdRaHaJe shops. This is a convenient way to prevent lost or stolen money. We require the accounts are used for our three younger resident camps, Mountain Village, Wilderness Ridge and Aspen View. Lodge & Narrow Way Campers can choose to put money into an account or keep it with them during the week. However, IdRaHaJe is not responsible for lost or stolen money. Please note that Narrow
Way campers may have limited opportunities to shop at IdRaHaJe due to the nature of their specific trips. If money remains in the spending account at the end of the week, an electronic refund will be made within two weeks to a credit card on file (if remaining balance is over $2.00).
DIETARY CONCERNS: If your child has food allergies or a special diet such as a gluten-free diet, you will be prompted to describe their needs during the on-line registration. We are a nut-free facility and can accommodate most dairy-free, gluten-free and vegetarian diets. If you would like to discuss Camp’s menu or your child’s specific needs, please contact our Food Service Supervisor at 303-838-5668 or foodservice @idrahaje.org at least two weeks before your child’s camp. We ask that special dietary requests are medically related.
HORSES: Horse Rides are $20 per half-hour and are available to all resident camps. Rides may be paid for during on-line registration or at Sunday check-in. Long pants and closed-toed shoes are required.
MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDES: Bike rides are available for $10 per hour-long ride for Lodge and Aspen View campers during free time. Narrow Way Expedition campers can also rent bikes for various out-trips (prices vary depending on trip). Price includes helmet. Closed-toed shoes must be worn while biking.
