Mental Qualities of Leaders

• Quick• Knowledgeable• Good Judgment• Foreseeing

Don’t Mistake These Qualities

• Arrogance vs. Confidence• Stubbornness vs. Determination• Wishy-washiness vs. Democratic Decision-

making• Inability to Take Action vs. Analysis

Leaders posses one quality critical to their success – good values

What are Values?

A set of beliefs and ideas affecting the way people make decisions and

conduct themselves.

Ethics and Morals

Rules of conduct based on the rightness or wrongness of actions

Effective Leaders Demonstrate Their Values by

• Leadership styles vary from individual to individual

• Finding the correct style is critical to identifying the “right” leader
