ITU Asia-Pacific Regional Initiatives: SUM
ITU ASP RI is an effective tool to serve for intended purposes
defined by WTDC-06 in Resolution 17 (Rev. Doha, 2006) ;
After adoption of the Resolution 17, BDT developed 16
projects for Asia-Pacific region ;
Implementation of the ITU ASP RIs has been at a
commendable level: e.g.,
USD 5.2 million mobilized for ASP RI projects (Dec 2008)
USD 1 million raised to support the RIs (Feb 2009)
Provision of external support from Member States, Regulators
and Industries through PPP effectively enabled project
implementation.
