    X-Ray Research (History) ISAS ( 1975) Nagoya(1988) Kyoto(1991) Success of 4 Satellites and Failure of 2

The ISAS Rocket M3C ( Feb. 1976 ) failed to launch CORSA, to be the first astronomical satellite o f Japan, due to a miss–operation of attitude control of the 2-nd, 3-rd stage motors.

This accident was rooted deep in human factors. Why did we not decide to stop the launch operation despite of a signature of attitude error. I learned that the space program requires tough heart, swift decision, carefulness and etc.

The failure of CORSA gave me time to developGas Scintillation Proportional Counter (GSPC)

Our Rocket Flight (K10-13; Sep. 1977) discovered OVII lines from The Local Hot bubble.

Oriented me to the study of “the X Ray Spectroscopy or “Iron Line Astronomy”.

Next year is 2006, the millennium of SN1006. To discuss on the results from Astro E2, I would like to have an International Symposium in Kyoto, because Fujiwara Teika, an ancestor of our Emperor, wrote very valuable note on the Supernova Event in 1006.

Supernova Events noted by Fujiwara Teika (1161-1241) in his diary “Meigetsuki”
