IV. Running to Petra

(Rev 12:6) And the woman fled into the

wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of

God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore

days.

(Rev 12:14) And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle,

that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for

a time, and times, and half a time, from the face

of the serpent.

A. Set the time

frame

(Rev 12:6) And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they

should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

(Rev 12:14) And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

NOTES

Notice that the two passages read basically the same with different wording.

Many people come to chapter 12 and get confused about the timeline because they look at vs. 4 and compare it to vs. 6 &14 along with vs. 9

Notice the space of time in the middle of vs.5 and the space of time between 5 and 6

Rev. 12:6“a thousand two hundred

and threescore days”

• There is 360 days in a Biblical (Jewish) calendar

• 1260 days is how long the Great tribulation lasts

• • 1260 days divided by 360 equals 3.5

years

Rev. 12:14“a time, and times, and half

a time”

• The word “time” is singular equaling 1 unit

• The word “times” is plural equaling 2 units

• The word half world be .5 of unit

• This equals 3.5 units or 3 1/2 years

NOTES

God is trying to scream out about the midway point of the tribulation all through the book of Revelation.

Lets take a look at all the things that happens at this point

(Rev 11:2-3) But the court which is without the temple

leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles:

and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months. And I will give

power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a

thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in

sackcloth.

Rev. 11:2“tread under foot forty and

two months”

• 42 mouths divided by a 12 mouth calendar equals 3.5 years

(Rev 13:5) And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto

him to continue forty and two months.

B. The buildup of

Anti-Semitism

(Rev 12:12) Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to

the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for

the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

C. Identifying

the process

(Rev 12:6) And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they

should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

(Rev 12:14) And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

NOTES

When this persecution sets in as the mid point of the tribulation begins God tells the JEW and all other tribulation believers to flee to a place that he has prepared.

How does she know where to go?

(Rev 12:6) And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and

threescore days.

(Rev 12:14) And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the

wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and

half a time, from the face of the serpent.

(Dan 7:25) And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of

time.

(Isa 40:30-31) Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon

the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be

weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

(Deu 32:9-13) For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his

inheritance. He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling

wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. As an eagle stirreth up her

nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh

them, beareth them on her wings: So the LORD alone did lead him, and

there was no strange god with him. He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of

the flinty rock;

NOTES

When this persecution sets in as the mid point of the tribulation begins God tells the JEW and all other tribulation believers to flee to a place that he has prepared.

How does she know where to go?

How will they be feed?

(Rev 12:6) And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they

should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

(Rev 12:14) And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

Hosea 2:13-16

(Isa 65:9) And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an

inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants

shall dwell there.

(Isa 65:10) And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a

place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.

(Isa 65:11) But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that

troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number.

(Eze 20:33-36) As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely with a mighty hand,

and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over

you: And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered,

with a mighty hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury

poured out. And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there will I plead with you face to face. Like as I pleaded with your

fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I plead with you,

saith the Lord GOD.

(Mic 7:14) Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily

in the wood, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in

Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.

(Mic 7:15) According to the days of thy coming out of

the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things.

(Exo 16:14-15) And when the dew that lay was gone up,

behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the

hoar frost on the ground. And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It

is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread

which the LORD hath given you to eat.

(Isa 33:14-17) The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us

shall dwell with everlasting burnings? He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of

oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil; He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be

the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be

sure. Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the

land that is very far off.

NOTES

How does she know where to go?

How will they be fed?

What can they bring with them?

(Mat 24:15-21) When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy

place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down

to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto

them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great

tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no,

nor ever shall be.

NOTES

How does she know where to go?

How will they be fed?

What can they bring with them?

What if they leave and try to come back?

(Heb 6:4-7) For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and

were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If

they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they

crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth

forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

NOTES

How does she know where to go?

How will they be fed?

What can they bring with them?

What if they leave and try to come back?

How will they be healed if they are sick?

(Jas 5:14-15) Is any sick among you? let him call for

the elders of the church; and let them pray over him,

anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the

prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise

him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be

forgiven him.

NOTES

How does she know where to go?

How will they be fed?

What can they bring with them?

What if they leave and try to come back?

How will they be healed if they are sick?

What about others that come in?

(Heb 13:1) Let brotherly love continue.

(Heb 13:2) Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby

some have entertained angels unawares.
