II. What is Breaking Limits

Who We Are Looking For

Breaking Limits is searching for highly motivated individuals who possess a strong desire to excel in the sports agency industry and are looking to gain valuable experience in sales, marketing, hospitality and event management, and media and public relations.

College students and recent college graduates whose primary focus is sports management, communications, marketing, journalism or related business majors preferred.

Internships will be paid as well as offer the following advantages:Credits towards degree.Potential travel to experience events first hand.References for future opportunities.Opportunity to learn from experienced directors while gaining hands-on experience with a new marketing agency.Evaluations prepared by immediate supervisor.

III. Who We Are Looking For

Application Process

To be considered, all applicants must submit by mail or e-mail the followingmaterials prior to deadlines

Spring Semester: Application is due Nov. 1st. Internship begins in January.

Summer Semester: Application is due April 1st. Internship begins in May.

Fall Semester: Application is due July 1. Internship begins in September.

****Interns will be responsible for their own relocation, housing and transportation expenses.

Interviews and Hiring

Who will be consideredAll junior or senior college students or recent college graduates will be considered. Applicants must be highly motivated and willing to work a minimum of 30 hrs. per week and could include some nights and weekends.

Incomplete ApplicationsWill not be reviewed and will be sent back to applicant for completion prior to being considered for the internship.

Number of Internships AvailableBreaking Limits has two internships available, per semester, but is subject to change based on need and strength of applicants.

Interviews and HiringApplicants may be called for initial telephone interviews by internship coordinator and potentially by department heads depending on their internal needs.

CorrespondenceWill be sent in response to all resumes. However, we ask that you follow up with a call if you do not receive correspondence within two weeks of submitting the application.

Intern OrientationAfter an applicant accepts the offer of an internship, he/she will be asked to sign a series of forms including a statement of agreement form that the internship in no way implies future employment with Breaking Limits, a covenant of confidentiality and waiver of liability form, emergency contact information form and tax forms in order to receive compensation.

Intern ResponsibilitiesAs an intern for Breaking Limits, the main focus of the internship will be on the sales, public relations and marketing departments. The daily responsibilities of interns will be established and supervised by leadership within the department they are working in.

School CreditsBreaking Limits will work with the interns to secure the necessary authorizations for school credit. It will be the responsibility of each intern to arrange completion of all necessary paperwork to certify course credit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist the sales and marketing teams with all day to day duties and responsibilities.

Attend weekly Breaking Limits staff meetings and brainstorming sessions to help generate marketing ideas for clients.

Assist PR staff in seeking and writing press releases for current and potential clients.

Provide updated industry research on businesses that are currently investing in NASCAR or sports marketing by utilizing industry related websites.

Work directly with marketing staff and help manage key accounts.

Potentially travel to event weekends with marketing staff and assist with any hospitality, clientmanagement and any other at track needs related to that weekend’s event.

Research leads and assist the Director of Business Development with prospecting potential sponsor opportunities.

Work with Director of Business Development on writing proposals for potential Breaking Limits clients.

Work on building case studies, best practices and B to B recaps, videos, brochures, etc. for Breaking Limits marketing purposes.

Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Junior, Senior, Graduate-level or Recent College Graduate.

Management, Marketing, Sports Administration, Communications or related business majors preferred.

Strong written and verbal skills and must have strong working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel.

Availability to work a minimum of 30 hrs. per week and possible nights and weekends.

Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with internal staff and external clients.

Ability to multi-task and maintain confidential information.
