NOW WHAT- THE HEADINGS Compose your letter Heading 1 (Provides a Return Address- minus your name) Heading 2 (Provides the Date) Use 2-8 Spaces Heading 3 (Inside Address) Double Space Salutation (Dear Mrs./Mr.) followed by colon Double Space

EXAMPLE

NOW- THE CONTENT The body of a business letter contains

Opening: State why you are writing

Middle: give the audience they proof they require

Closing: Focus on a course of action- What should happen next?
