How To Load Hierarchies from Flat files

Here for demo purpose I am selecting 0PROD_HIER info object.

Goto RSA1 and from Modeling Tab Select Info sources.

Select any application component and right click on that component, From Context menu select Create Info source.

Select Info object 0PROD_HIER For Direct Update of master data.

Right click on the Info object Product Hierarchy and select Assign Data source from the context menu.

Select the FLAT FILE source system from the drop-down

Select the data source assignment for Hierarchy. If we wish to load Master data attributes and texts then we can select those also by clicking Yes on the appropriate Information dialogue box.[Note: here I am selecting only data source assignment for hierarchies]

From the Info source assignment screen select Transfer method IDOC.

Select Hierarchy structure Push button and give the Hierarchy name and short description and press enter

Select Sorted Hierarchy and press enter [Note: this hierarchy structure will be appear in Info package]

Save the structure and Data source assignment and leave back the screen

Right Click on the File system and from context menu select Create Info package

Select the Data source and Give the Info package description

Select the Hierarchy in the Hierarchy selection tab in the Info package.

Select the name of the flat file from External data tab in the Info package.[Note: Here I am attaching the sample file ]

Click the Preview Button

Select the Simulate button from the above screen to simulate Hierarchy. If the flat file construction is wrong then we can identify it from here.

Leave the screen and select Scheduling by pressing Start from the schedule tab

From the above screen select Monitor to view whether it was loaded properly or not[Note : Refresh up to successful or In correct]

Goto RSH1 transaction to check the final Hierarchy:

This is the final Hierarchy
