How to Draw Spongebob Squarepants Doing the Wave

Step 1

First, Sketch out the Outline of Spongebob Squarepants’ face’s outer-shape. Don’t worry about mistakes because you can erase these later. Later, you will be using a pen or marker to outine the ‘right’ lines.

Step 2

Now make Spongebob’s face 3D by sketching out the side of his face.

Step 3

Now sketch out Spongebob Squarepants’ pants (as shown above).

Step 4

Now you should make a cross in the center of Spongebob Squarepants’ frame so you will know where to place Spongebob’s facial features.

Step 5

Now that you have the crosslines on Spongebob Squarepants’ face, you will be able to easily find where to put his features. The nose stars on the right side of the center point. The cheek in the center of the left half of Spongebob’s face. And the smile stars just below the center line.

Step 6

Now draw the tongue (looks like the letter ‘M’) and the teeth (looks like a letter ‘E’).

Step 7

Now draw the back of Spongebob Squarepants’ mouth.

Step 8

Now you are drawing Spongebob’s chin and part of his shirt and tie.

Step 9

Now draw Spongebob’s pants and belt.

Step 10

Now draw his pants.

Step 11

And now draw Spongebob’s shirt sleeves.

Step 12

Draw Spongebob’s arms and hands.

Step 13

Draw Spongebob’s  fingers.

Step 14

Now draw Spongebob’s legs and feet.

These shoes might look hard to draw but if you look closer, you will see that the right shoe (the red lines) looks like an ’8′ and the left shoe (red part) looks like an oval with 2 lines.

Step 16

Now draw Spongebob Squarepants sponge circles.

Now draw Spongebob’s eyes.

Step 18

Now outline the ‘right’ lines with marker or pen and erase the remaining lines to look like this picture.

Step 19 Finished Spongebob Squarepants

How to Draw Squidward Tentacles from Spongebob Squarepants

Step 1

First, Sketch out the Outline of Squidward Tentacles’ head … an oval shape. Don’t worry about mistakes because you can erase these later. Later, you will be using a pen or marker to outline the ‘right’ lines.

Step 2

Now draw 2 smaller vertical ovals at the bottom of the first bigger horizontal oval. These 2 ovals will be Squidward’s eyes.

Step 3

Now you should draw a slightly bigger oval between the 2 ovals that you just drew. This will be Squidward’s nose.

Step 4

Now draw Squidward Tentacles’ frowny mouth slightly above the center of Squidward’s nose.

Step 5

This step is a little tough for some people. The easiest way to do this is to look at the red line on the left and try to picture it as something that you can draw, like a letter ‘C’ with a small curved line at the top and you can think of the line on the right as a backwards ‘C’ with a small curve at the top or a sideways ‘U’ with a small curve at the right. Just try to picture these lines as something that you know that you can draw.

Step 6

There are 2 things to do in this step. First draw 3 slightly curved downward lines above Squidward’s eyes.  These are Squidward’s brow lines. Now draw rectangles inside Squidward’s eyes…make sure to make them around the size that I made them.

Step 7

Now lets draw Squidward’s neck. All it is are 2 straight lines beneath his nose. After you draw the neck, make a slightly bigger oval below the neck than you did for his nose.

Step 8

Now draw the shape of Squidward’s hands by drawing 2 rounded squares (huh?) at the bottom of the oval.

Step 9

Draw Squidward’s arms by drawing a line from the center of his neck to middle of his hands.

Step 10

Now draw Squidward’s shirt by drawing a ‘W’ like shape at the top of Squidward’s oval body shape…and 2 lines in the middle of Squidward’s arms for shirt sleeves and a slightly upward curved line 1/3 to the bottom of Squidward’s oval body shape for the bottom of his shirt.

Step 11

This one might look tough but if you try to look at it in a different way and visualize each line as a separate shape, it really isn’t so tough. You can think of the right leg as 2 curvy ‘L’s or 2 very loose ‘C’s. Just go with your imagination.

Step 12

Now draw the ends of Squidward’s legs or tentacles. Draw 2 upside down ‘U’s ad then close the opening with a line.

Step 13

Draw circles inside the ends of the tentacles. Draw 4 dashed lines.

Step 14

Now draw the back tentacles. Draw the left back tentacle by drawing a lowercase ‘e’ and for the right back tentacle, draw a backwards lowercase ‘e’.

Step 15

Now you just have to erase lines that you don’t need and outline the ‘correct’ lines with a pen or marker. If you are having problems figuring out which lines to erase, then reference my drawing (above) for help.

How to Draw Gary the Snail from Spongebob Squarepants : Step by Step Drawing Tutorial

Step 1

First draw a circle with a little bit of a lip at the bottom (as shown above). Don’t worry about mistakes because you can erase these later. Later, you will be using a pen or marker to outine the ‘right’ lines.

Step 2

Now draw 2 ovals for eyes.

Step 3

Now draw 2 small circles with a big dot inside each of the circles (as shown above).

Step 4

Now draw Gary’s body which is mostly a wavy line.

Step 5

Now draw Gary the Snail’s mouth which is simply a sideways ‘P’ shape.

Step 6

Now draw 2 stems holding up Gary’s eyes.

Step 7

Now draw a curvy shell decoration which sort of looks like a bubble letter ‘P’.

Step 8

Now draw a bunch of circles around the ‘P’ shape. Also draw a line on Gary’s body.

Step 9

Now outline the ‘right’ lines with marker or pen and erase the remaining lines to look like this picture.

How to Draw Patrick Star from Spongebob Squarepants

Step 1

First, use a pencil to lightly draw or sketch out the outline shape of Patrick. It might help you to try to think of Patrick’s outer shape to look similar to the shape of a squash or a tear drop. Try not ‘to worry too much about mistakes because you can erase any lines that you don’t like later on. Later, you will be using a pen or marker to outline the ‘correct’ lines.

Step 2

Now draw two side-ways ‘U’ shapes for Patrick’s arms. These arms should start at approximately the center of Patrick’s shaper (vertically). If you try to think of Patrick (or anything that you draw) as a a collection of smaller, easy to draw shapes, then you will find drawing Patrick to be a snap.

Step 3

Now you can sketch two ‘U’ shapes for Patrick’s legs.

Step 4

Now you can draw a sideways ’8′ shape for Patrick’s eyes.

Step 5

Patrick’s sleepy / groggy look is created by giving Patrick lower eyelids. Look below to see what I mean.

Step 6

Now put 2 dots in the circles for Patrick’s irises. Also draw 2 sideways ‘M’s / ‘W’s’ for Patrick’s eyebrows.

Step 7

Draw a nick smile for Patrick.

Step 8

Draw Patrick’s belly button which are 2 ‘U’ shapes, one above the other. Also draw Patrick’s shorts as well. It is okay that these shapes are built right on top of each other. That is what erasers are made for.

Step 9

Now just draw flowers on Patrick’s shorts and you are done with the sketching. Since the flower patterns wrap around Patrick’s body, you won’t be able to see more than a few petals from each flower.

Step 10

Now you just have to erase lines that you don’t need and outline the ‘correct’ lines with a pen or marker. If you are having problems figuring out which lines to erase, then reference my drawing (below) for help.

Step 11

Use your watercolors, markers, colored pencils, crayons, or chalk to color Patrick and you will have an amazing Patrick Star to show off to your friends.

Plankton from Spongebob Squarepants

Step 1

First draw a lima-bean-type-shape (as shown above). Don’t worry about mistakes because you can erase these later. Later, you will be using a pen or marker to outine the ‘right’ lines.

Step 2

Next draw a vertically long oval shape for Plankton’s eye.

Step 3

Now draw another vertically long oval shape inside the first oval shape. This oval should be much smaller. Also draw a circle inside the smaller oval … this will be the eye’s highlight.

Step 4

Next draw Plankton’s eyebrow. Plankton has a ‘V’ shaped eyebrow because he is always angry about getting his hands on Mr. Krabs Krabby Patties Recipe.

Step 5

Next draw Plankton’s arm and fist. To start off with, just draw an oval for Plankton’s fist.

Step 6

Now draw the left arm (an upside down bubble-letter ‘U’) with an oval shape at the end of it. Also draw an upside down ‘P’ on the right fist for Plankton’s thumb sticking out.

Step 7

Next draw an ‘S’ and an ‘O’ on the left fist and draw 2 rectangles for Planton’s legs.

Step 8

Now draw a smiley curve (it will turn into an angry mouth soon) and an upside down ‘U’ for Plankton’s lower mouth line.

Step 9

Now we will make Plankton’s mouth angry (as I promised). Draw a bubble letter ‘N’ for Plankton’s tongue. And draw 2 lines down connecting the lower mouth (upside down ‘U’). Also draw Plankton’s lip by drawing the ‘U’ underneath and to the right of the upside down ‘U’.

Step 10

Now lets draw Plankton’s antennea (believe it or not that is the plural of antenna) … just draw 2 lines sloping to the right and 2 to the left. Also draw a few curvy lines inside the antennea. Also draw a small ‘U’ above Plankton’s eyebrows.

Step 11

Now outline the ‘right’ lines with marker or pen and erase the remaining lines to look like this picture of Plankton above.
