prayerfully thinking about what we purposefully have said or done that hurt

others and relationship with our Lord God.

2. Sorrow, for having offended God.

Saying sorry is a promise to change your ways.

My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart.In choosing to do wrong and failing to do good,I have sinned against You whom I should love above all things.I firmly intend with your help, to do penance, to sin no more.And to avoid whatever leads me to sin.

Ten Commandments1. I am the Lord your God, you shall

not have any strange gods before me.• Do I make time to pray to God every day?

• Have I let anything like sports, video game, clothes or even my friends become more important to me than God?

• Do I trust in good luck charms or superstitions instead of God?

• If kids make fun of my Catholic faith, do I defend it or do I keep quiet?

2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in Vain

• Have I used Bad words?

• Do I pray for kids or adults when I hear them use God’s name in anger?

• Do I make the sign of the Cross – in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit with reverence, that is, with care and respect?

3. Remember to keep holy the day of the Lord

• Have I missed Sunday Mass because I chose to go someplace else like a party or a ball game?

• Are my Sundays all about me? Or are they about God?

• Do I remember that Jesus is with me at Mass? Do I listen to his words and pray with devotion?

4. Honour your father and mother

• Do I fight with my brothers and sister?

• Do I follow my family’s rules and do my chores without complaining?

• Do I pray for the pope and the leaers of my church family?

• Do I respect the authority of my teachers?

5. You shall not kill

• Have I ever hurt someone on purpose by hitting or calling them names?

• Do I take good care of my pets?

• Do I try to get back at someone who has hurt me? Do I pray to forgive them instead?

• Have I bullied anyone or stood by while someone else was bullied? Am I willing to tell a trusted adult about it?

6. You shall not commit adultery

• Do I keep the promises I make?

• Do I respect the promises others make, especially my parents?

• Have I watched TV shows or movies that I KNOW are bad for me?

7. You shall not steal

• Have I ever taken something that does not belong to me?

• If I find something valuable, do I search for the owner?

• Have I ever copied someone else’s work?

• Do I return whatever I borrow in good condition?

• Do I share with others?

8. You shall not bear false witness

• Have I told lies?

• If people are telling hurtful stories about someone, do I join in? Even if I think the person “deserves” it?

• If I have told a lie, do I admit it and apologize?

• Do I blame others when I make a mistake?

• Do I comfort those who are hurting?

9. You shall not covet your neighbours wife

• Am I jealous of other people and their relationships?

• Do I pray for my parents, grandparents, and family?

• Do I take my friends for granted or do I thank God for bringing them into my life?

• Do I trust that God will help me find good friends?

10. You shall not covet your neighbours goods

• Am I envious of other kids’ talents or abilities?

• Do I appreciate the gifts and talents I’ve been given?

• Am I grateful when someone give me a present? Do I say “Thank You”?

• Am I happy for others when they do well at school or in a game?

• Do I take care of what God has given me?
