WHERE DO HOPI INDIANS LIVE?• The Hopi Indians live on the

highlands of northern AZ.(located in the southern part of the U.S.A.). It is a beautiful environment. They live on 3 mesas.( a high plateau with steep sides).

WHAT DO HOPI INDIANS LIVE IN?

•Hopi Indians live in houses called adobes. They are made of mud and straw that are made into bricks for their houses.

WHAT THEY EAT

• Hopi Indians eat piki bread, corns, beans, squash. They also use tobacco but they don’t eat it they use it for parties . For their meat, they hunt deer and antelope. Their fruit is nuts and more. Also different types of corn bread.

CLOTHES

• Men wear cotton pants, Girls wear cotton dresses. They wear blouses under them.

FAMILY LIFE

• They live as a group and migrate not very often. They go hunting for food. As for women they stay and make pottery and dolls .They follow religious rules to keep balance.

RELIGION

• They practice many ceremonies throughout the year. The kiva is a social ceremonial chamber and the center of the religious life involving hundreds of kachina spints.

CULTURE

• Traditionally agricultural and respectful people, the Hopi are tightly knit together by clan relationship. Considered the "oldest of the native people" the Hopi reside in 12 traditional villages, home to a total population of about 10,000.

WHAT THEY ARE KNOWN FOR

• Hopi Indians are known for there poetry and kachina dolls. They are also known for there jewelry and baskets.
